Procedure
There were 231 students enrolled in 8 sections of the course, the Texas A&M University-Commerce College of
Business and Technology.That group of students has been taken as sample to take a conclusion by survey. Their
evaluation gives a certain result.

4 = Extremely Essential-VITAL for initial employment.


3= Highly Essential-QUITE ESSENTIAL for initial employment.
2 = Essential-NEEDED, but could be learned on the job.
1 = Not Essential-NOT ESSENTIAL for initial employment.
These results are about 44 Communication skills and their level of importance in practical
professional field.

Conclusion
Students of the College of Business communication course at Texas A&M University
were surveyed.They made us realize that following are core of communication
competencies.

Skills of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.


Skills dealing with relationships.
Communicating with honesty and integrity.
Maintaining necessary confidentiality.
Effectively conducting team communication.
Understanding the importance of business
relationships.

Conclusion
Demonstrates social courtesy and etiquette.
Effective eye contact.
Varied and appropriate vocabulary.
Effectively evaluate audiences.
Demonstrate leadership abilities.
Positive way of interaction.
Focus on idea.
