The UM66 Melody

IC
The UM66T is melody integrated circuit (IC)
designed for use in bells, telephones, toys etc. This
IC has built-in tone and beat generator. The tone
generator is a pre-programmed divider to produce
certain frequencies. The beat generator is also a
programmed divider which contains 15 beats.
There is a built-in oscillator circuit that serves as a
time base for beat and tone generator. The UM66T
It has a 62 notes ROM to play music. The ROM
contains a set of 4 bits to control the scale code,
while 2 bits control the rhythm code. When power
supply is turned on, the melody generator is started
and melody begins from the first note. The speaker
can be driven by an external transistor connected
to the output of UM66T.
Many versions of UM66T are available which
generate tone of different songs. For example,
UM66T01 generates tone for songs Jingle bells,
Santa Claus is coming to town and We wish you a
merry Xmas.

repelled from the permanent magnet, producing
back and forth vibrations.
This coil is attached to a cone of a flexible
material such as paper or plastic which use
these vibrations for pumping sound waves into
the surrounding air .
The frequency of the vibrations governs the
pitch of the sound produced, and their5
amplitude affects the volume strength.
