GROUP PRESENTATION: LESSON PLAN

TOPIC: UNIT 6 (PETS WORLD)
REFERENCE: ENGLISH YEAR 3
TEXTBOOK
DURATION: 30 MINUTES (1 PERIOD)

1. GAIN ATTENTION
Carry out set induction.
Show the picture of certain
types of animals using projector.
Act the movement of that
animals.
Do the sound of the animals

2. Provide Learning Objective


Show students the learning objectives
using the projector.
At the end of the lesson, students
should:
*Able to subtitute the words in bold with
suitable words for example: horsegalloped
*Able perform the song.

3. Stimulate or Recall prior


knowledge
Ask pupils who has the pet at home
to raise up their hand.
Ask the pupils what kind of animal
that they keep as their pet.
Ask the pupils what usually their pet
do such as jumping, walking or
flying.

4. Present the materials


Teacher wears animal masks which are
going to be introduced in the lesson
Teacher makes the animal sound while
showing the movements or action of the
animals one by one as there are 4
animals to be taught.
Let the pupils guess what are the animals
Finally, show them the answers. Explain

5. Provide guidance for


learning
Since this activity lesson needs a lot of
movements, better show the lyrics of
the kid song in LCD projector while they
are singing
Guide the pupils who have difficulties
in pronuncing or following the lyrics.
Approach them. Use intrapersonal
technique of teaching.

6. Elicit performance
By calling/choosing few pupils randomly on
the spot to make sure whether they are
alert or not
Ask the pupils to wear the masks
Each of them demonstrates the animals
sound and movement in front of the class
The others will sing along and follow their
friends actions

7. PROVIDE FEEDBACK
STRATEGIES & TEACHING METHOD:
1) Put up the poem chart
2) Read the poem.
3) Do the actions together and get pupils to
articulate the sounds.
4) Pupils in groups articulate the sounds and
then say a word.
5) Teacher correct their pronounciation.
6) Repeat the correct pronounciation with the
students.

8. ASSESS PERFORMANCE
ACTIVITY: TALK BOARD
STRATEGIES & TEACHING METHOD:
1) Teacher ask question
Example: What is the plural form of duck?
: Spell the past tense form the word
waddle?
2) Teacher give 5 seconds for students to write their
answer on their own mini whiteboard.
3) Each students raise up their answer when time is
out and also say it out aloud.
4) Teacher can assess their understanding on the spot.
