Background of development
Current D155AX-5 has been highly evaluated in productivity, reliability and operating cost.
In 2005, CAT has introduced new D8T which complies with EPA Tier 3 emission
regulation.
D155AX-5 has partially become old, but has still superiority in work performance.
New model is required to meet the Tier 3 emission regulations.

Ecology & economy technology 3

Komatsu has been developing and manufacturing in house both the construction
vehicles and engines: equipment since 1931 and diesel engines since 1935.
Supported by such experience, the ecot3 technology was developed aiming for
preservation of the Earth's environment (Ecology) and the customer's productivity
(Economy). What makes us successful is our strong technological capabilities and
power that integrates them into efficient machinery.
