HISTORY AND TECHNOLOGY

Aeronautics means "navigation,

seamanship". It is the science involved with

the study, design and manufacture of flight -capable
machines, or the techniques of operating aircraft.

AIRPLANES
A fixed-wing

aircraft,
typically called
an airplane,
aeroplane or
plane, is an
aircraft capable
of flight using
forward
motion..
3

DERIVATION OF WORD
The wordairplane, likeaeroplane, derives

from theFrencharoplane,
aroplane is derived from theGreek
(ar), "airand eitherLatinplanus, "level,
or Greek (planos), "wandering
"Aroplane" originally referred just to the
wing, as it is aplane moving through
theair.

PASSENGER AEROPLANE

AVIONICS
AVIONICS is aviation +electronics
Avionic systems include communications,

navigation, the display and management of

multiple systems, and the hundreds of
systems that are fitted to aircraft to perform
individual functions. Avionicsare
theelectronicsystems used on
aircraft,artificial satellites, andspacecraft.

TYPES OF AIRCRAFTS
An AEROSTAT is a system

that remains aloft

primarily through the use
of buoyant lighter than air
gases to give a vehicle
with nearly the same
overall density as air
which mainly includes
airships free balloons

Aerostats are so named

because they use

"aerostatic" lift which is a
buoyant force that does
not require movement
through the surrounding
air mass

COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFTS

PRIVATE JETS

THEY ARE USED FOR COMMERCIAL

AND DAILY TRAVELLING

LUXURY AIRCRAFTS
NOWADAYS IN MOST OF THE
AIRLINERS GIVE PREFERENCE
TO LUXURY

THEY ARE
OWNED BY RICH PEOPLE
SPACECRAFTS

FOR THEIR PERSONAL AND FAMILY

THEY ARE USED FOR TRAVELLING
TRAVELLING
AND EXPLORING IN SPACE

10

FIGHTER JETS
They are used for defense and
national purposes by the armed
forces

11

TAKE OFF
Takeoff is the phase of flight
in which an aircraft goes
through a transition from
moving along the ground to
flying in the air, usually
starting on a runway.

LANDING
landing is the last part of a

flight, aircraft, or spacecraft

returns to the ground.

SAFETY MEASURES
When risk is measured

by
deaths
per
passenger
kilometre,
air
travel
is
approximately 10 times
safer than travel by bus
or rail.
When using the deaths
per journey statistic, air
travel is significantly
more dangerous than
car, rail, or bus travel.

14

SCOPE OF INSTRUMENTATION IN
AVIATION INDUSTRY
Instrumentation engineers are expected to work

with data acquisition and sensor systems,

calibrating and maintenance of the equipment etc.
There might be various measurement systems in
the avionics industry, the primary variables being
velocity, length, torque etc.
Control systems are also an important part in
avionics industry.
There is a ton of instrumentation work when it
comes to fight testing of aircraft, as well as bench
testing of particular components of spacecraft and
aircraft.
15

FUTURE TECHNOLOGY
AADX450TJ
T-tail jet exemplifies the elegant curves
made possible by composite construction
technology.
Aerodynamically slippery, the jet would
be well-suited either for private
transportation or as a regional air taxi.

16

FUTURE TECHNOLOGY
MONOTILT ROTOR
It is used as a spy plane

which is designed in Japan

and is an unmanned
computerized and preprogrammed aircraft.
