RESEARCH AND REFERENCES

Research textbook and academic journal articles to both inform and


support your discussion

References should include the textbook as well as academic journal


articles

Overall, a minimum of 10 references should be used to support case


study answers

The readings provided for each module are a good indication of the
kinds of academic journal articles that you could search and the
standard of academic journal article. Advanced textbooks may also
be suitable references

Use the PROQUEST electronic journal database on the UTAS library


website

Search for full text, peer-reviewed journal articles

In your responses to the textbook case study questions, make sure


you incorporate the following:
Identify relevant variables at the individual level of OB
Relate the variables identified to the 6 dependent variables we
focus on throughout the semester
Apply specific individual level OB theory and academic research
to address the issues in the case study
The OB Dependent Variables Worksheet provided on MyLO for
students to keep a record of cause-effect relationships between
individual level OB variables and the 6 dependent OB variables you
developed for modules 1, 2 and 3, will be useful for this assessment
task.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
1. Understand and explain key individual level influences on human
behaviour in organisations (30%)
Show an ability to identify and explain key individual-level
influences on human behaviour (select and define variables)
Show an ability to identify key implications arising from issues
(outcomes)
Integrate theory, research and examples to illustrate
understanding (support discussion)

2. Knowledge of theories, concepts and models in organisational


behaviour and the ability to apply them to topical OB issues (30%)
Analyse and evaluate OB issues and apply theories, concepts and
models (positives and negatives)
Identify and discuss appropriate strategies to improve work
performance based on relevant OB theory (make appropriate
recommendations)

3. Apply current theory and practice to personal workplace experience


(30%)
Analyse and summarise academic literature in organisational
behaviour (select theory for situation)
Apply a specific aspect of organisational behaviour theory from
the analysis to real world examples (match
theory/practice/recommendations and situation)

4. Effectively communicate in an educative manner (10%)


Communicate using Australian workplace standard language,
literacy and appropriate formats (spelling, grammar, language,
paragraphs, report structure)
Use scholarly and discipline specific language and formats
including using Harvard referencing conventions (use appropriate
terms and referencing)]Communicate complex information in
