The Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case will assist the
Government of Iraq in sustaining its Air Traffic Control
Systems at three (3) Iraqi Airbases and its Adecel
MaxSim Tower Simulation System and Raytheon
AutoTrac II radar simulation system at one (1) of the
three (3) Iraqi Airbases
Increase safety and control in airfield operations with
improved communications between the tower and aircraft

Overarching System
Description/Requirements
Government of Iraq (GoI) requires the contractor provide:
Site Survey Reports
Evaluation of ATCT equipment, Adecel MaxSim Tower Simulator System
(TSS), and AutoTrak II (AT2) Radar Simulator System (RSS)
Repair or Procure non-functioning equipment

Procurement of Airfield Lighting System (ALS) control computer and


remote status and control unit (RSCU) for Doppler VHF omnidirectional
range (DVOR) at Taji
Associated Spare Parts, Test Equipment, Ancillary Equipment, Warranty,
O&M Manuals, Site Survey, Installation and Checkout, and Factory and
Site Acceptance Testing
On-site Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) for 1 year
2 years warranty on all delivered equipment
Training on Adecel MaxSim Tower Simulation System and Raytheon
AutoTrac 2 radar
Security, transportation, and life support costs for all contractor personnel

Overarching System Description


1. Al Taji (Taji) Air Base. The contractor shall conduct a site survey of the ATCT equipment,
airfield weather observation system (AWOS) to determine what equipment and services
are required for operations. The contractor shall procure, install, and test Airfield Lighting
System (ALS) control computer and RSCU for DVOR at Al Taji Air Base. Provide one year
on-site CLS. The ATCT equipment and RSCU were purchased and installed under FMS
programs G3-D-QAI and IQ-D-QAA respectively.
2. Imam Ali (Tallil) Air Base. The contractor shall conduct a site survey of the ATCT
equipment, AWOS to determine what equipment and services are required for operations
and to provide on-site CLS.

3. Air Base One :Al Sahra (Tikrit) Air Base. The contractor shall conduct a site survey of
the ATCT equipment, AWOS, Adecel MaxSim tower simulator (TSS), and the AutoTrak II
(AT2) radar simulator systems to determine what equipment and services are required to
restore operations and to provide on-site CLS. The ATCT equipment and ATC training
systems were bought and installed under Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program G3-D-QAI.
