ONE ANOTHER

RELATIONSHIPS
WITHIN
THE LORDS BODY

FOUR TERMS THAT HELP

TO
DEFINE THE CHURCH
AS A
LIVING ORGANISM

1.
THE LORDS FAMILY
Do not rebuke an older man but
exhort him as you would a father;
treat younger men like brothers,
older women like mothers,
younger women like sisters, in all
purity.
(I Timothy 5:1, 2)

2.
A LOVING PARTNERSHIP
So if you consider me your
partner, receive him (ONESIMUS)
as you would receive me.
(Philemon 17)

3.
A LIVING BODY
The eye cannot say to the hand,
"I have no need of you," nor
again the head to the feet, "I
have no need of you.
Now you are the body of Christ
and individually members of it.
(I Corinthians 12:21, 27)

4.
THE PHRASE, ONE ANOTHER
Bear one another's burdens, and
so fulfil the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:2)
WHAT IS SAID BY PAUL IN the
previous verse, GALATIANS 6:1?

LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

A new commandment I give to
you, that you love one another;
even as I have loved you, that you
also love one another.
By this all men will know that
you are my disciples, if you have
love for one another.
(John 13:34, 35)

MAKE THAT LOVE FERVENT!

Having purified your souls by your
obedience to the truth for a

sincere love of the brethren,

love one another earnestly
from the heart.
(I Peter 1:22)

CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER

that there

may be no
division in the body, but that
the members may have the same
care for one another.
(I Corinthians 12:25)
If one member suffers, all suffer
together. (12:26)

SHOW HOSPITALITY TO ONE

ANOTHER
Show hospitality to one another
without grumbling.
As each has received a gift, use it
to serve one another, as good
stewards of God's varied grace:
(I Peter 4:9, 10)

BUILD UP (Edify) ONE

ANOTHER
Let us then pursue what makes
for peace and for mutual
upbuilding.
(Romans 14:19)

SERVE (Be a slave to) ONE

ANOTHER
For you were called to freedom,
brothers. Only do not use your
freedom as an opportunity for the
flesh, but through love serve
one another.
(Galatians 5:13)

LIVE IN HARMONY WITH ONE

ANOTHER
May the God of endurance and
encouragement grant you to

live in such harmony with

one another, in accord with
Christ Jesus,
(Romans 15:5)

WELCOME OR RECEIVE ONE

ANOTHER
Therefore welcome one
another as Christ has welcomed
you, for the glory of God.
(Romans 15:7)

CONFESS TO ONE ANOTHER,

AND PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
Therefore, confess your sins
to one another and pray for
one another, that you may be
healed. The prayer of a righteous
person has great power as it is
working.
(James 5:16)

EXHORT AND ENCOURAGE

ONE ANOTHER
But exhort one another
every day, as long as it is
called "today," that none of you
may be hardened by the
deceitfulness of sin.
(Hebrews 3:13)

EXHORT ONE ANOTHER

And let us consider how to stir
up one another to love and good
works,
not neglecting to meet together,
as is the habit of some, but
encouraging one another, and
all the more as you see the Day
drawing near.
(Hebrews 10:24, 25)

HAVE A TENDER AFFECTION

FOR ONE ANOTHER

Love one another with

brotherly affection. Outdo one
another in showing honor.
(Romans 12:10)

BE KIND AND

TENDERHEARTED TO ONE
ANOTHER. FORGIVE ONE
ANOTHER
Be kind to one another,

tenderhearted, forgiving one

another, as God in Christ forgave
you.
(Ephesians 4:32)

SUBMIT TO ONE ANOTHER

submitting to one another
out of reverence for Christ.
(Ephesians 5:21)

(I Peter 2:17)

PAUL HELPED THE GREAT

BROTHERHOOD COMPOSED
OF JEWS AND GENTILES
For Macedonia and Achaia have
been pleased to make some
contribution for the poor among
the saints at Jerusalem.
(Romans 15:26)
Continued

For they were pleased to do it,

and indeed they owe it to them.
For if the Gentiles have come to
share in their spiritual blessings,
they ought also to be of service
to them in material blessings.
(Romans 15:27)

NOTE:
Paul, an apostle -- not from men
nor through man, but through
Jesus Christ and God the
Father.,
and all the brothers who are with
me, To the churches of Galatia:
(Galatians 1:1, 2)
Continued

Brothers, if anyone is caught in

any transgression, you who are

spiritual should restore him in a

spirit of gentleness. Keep watch
on yourself, lest you too be
tempted.

Bear one another's burdens,

and so fulfill the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:1, 2)

OF
ONE ANOTHER
