Air Pollution
Air is essential for our lives and existence . We require pure
and clean air so that we remain healthy and free of
diseases .
Man by his activities has increased harmful gases in the
atmosphere .Causes for air pollution are:
Factories let out harmful chemical which mix with the air
and cause acid rain. These gases cause diseases , allergies,
affect our eyesight & cause skin irritation.
Carbon dioxide & carbon mono oxide has increased in the
air because of vehicles .

Controls Of Air Pollution

Plant more trees to increase oxygen

content in the atmosphere .
Burning of garbage in the open should be
avoided . This process gives out harmful
gases .
Vehicles should use CNG [compressed
natural gas ] . This reduces pollution .
Regular pollution checks should be
carried out so that the vehicles do not
pollute the atmosphere .

Water pollution
Water is the most precious resource.
Earth comprises of 70% of water
however 30% is fresh water.
Some of the reasons for water
pollution are:
-Water from sewage .
-Industrial discharges
-Agriculture pollution because of
pesticides.
-Because of non biodegradable waste.

Control Of Water Pollution

Do not wash clothes & throw garbage in

the water bodies .
Industries should treat the water and
make it less poisonous before throwing it
into the water bodies .
Do not wash animals in water bodies .
Avoid using fertilizers in access in farms
as they make the farm acidic .

Noise pollution
Noise is or can an invisible pollutant . When
noise around us causes headache , irritation
& tiredness , the environment is said to be in
a state of noise pollution
When a person is exposed to noise pollution
he/she becomes ,or can become irritable ,
angry , hard of hearing and may also develop
hypertension.

Controls Of Noise Pollution

Do not blow horns unnecessarily. Areas likes hospitals &
campus are SILENCE ZONES and BLOWING OF HORNS
is prohibited there .
Students must not bang desk and chairs and not shout
unnecessarily in the class as it cause noise pollution .
Generators must be kept in noise proof chambers as it
can injure our sense of hearing and can make us deaf
If you are working in an area there is a loud noise , you
must wear ear plugs to protect your ears .

Global Warming
The excess of green house gases in
atmosphere would result in entrapment
of more heat in resulting into global
warming.
Some of the green house gases are carbon
dioxide, methane , nitrous oxide & CFC.
