Pointed arch (making the building larger and taller)
Buttresses ( to support the building)

Decorations are more elaborate.

Sculpture forms the decoration on three portals which are heavy
with religious depictions and relics.
Gothic cathedrals usually have two towers.

It is in the great churches and cathedrals and in a number of civic

buildings that the Gothic style was expressed most powerfully.
