INTRODUCTION

This TRAINING GUIDE MODULE supplements all the


training endeavours of the Quality Assurance, Safety
and Training Departments of Qatar Star Services
L.L.C. for MOI ABU SAMRA. The contents herein are
validated and are approved in accordance with the
company policies. All employees are required to
read, understand and adhere to the policies
standards stated.
However, the module is not developed to cover every
aspect of company policies. It simply presents an
overview of Integrated Management System and
Procedures.

OVERVIEW
In 1990, STAR SERVICES was
launched

chain
of
companies that specializes in
catering
and

support
services

operations

Qatar,
Lebanon,
U.A.E.
and
Kuwait. To date, it continues to

other Middle East countries.

exporting and wholesale delivery of
foodstuff in the Gulf region. Star

GOOD HOUSEKEEPING
GOOD HOUSEKEEPING is not just
cleanliness. It includes keeping work
areas neat and orderly (food, nonfood items and chemicals should be
separately stored in designated safekeeping areas/places); maintaining
halls and floors free of slip and trip
hazards. It also includes removing of
waste materials and other fire
hazards from work areas.

Housekeeping in any organization is the cornerstone of


efficiency and the maintenance of operating standards. If
you are going to increase safety levels, first of all to
improve housekeeping.

A messy working environment contributes to unsafe work


practices, undesirable incidents and ultimately, workplace
accidents

A tidy workplace reduces the opportunity for accidents,


incidence and prevents wasted energy.

mobile equipment.

store or throw it on the ground or floor, you don't

Immediately clear the floor of hazards

Keep walkways free of obstructions

Keep all storage areas or machines clean and


turned off when not in use

Keep emergency exits free of obstructions

Do not guess. If you are in doubt as to the safe


and proper way to carry out a job or use
equipment, always seek advice from your
supervisor

Good Housekeeping Guidelines:

Always think for a few seconds about the way how to


perform your work before starting.

Report all unsafe conditions to your supervisor or


manager.

Read and understand all the warning signs and notices.

Never play practical jokes or distract others while


working.

Stay focus. Do not allow personal problems to affect


your work.

Know the locations of your first aid boxes

All injuries must be attended to immediately. Seek help


if you are in doubt
