Definitions
Classroom management is allowing all
students and teacher to work together in an effective learning environment. Positive reinforcements are ways to show students that they are doing things correctly or to correct a student in a way that is not negative.

How can I use positive reinforcements to
change my classroom management? Are there other tools that could be used to change my classroom management?
Intervention
I plan to use more positive words instead of
negative words. I plan to ask students to do things instead of demand them. (And then get mad when they dont do them). I plan to practice routines and procedures with my class during the first couple of weeks of school. I plan to have students to help create rules so that they feel as though they have a say in the classroom. This will help them to take ownership of their behavior for learning.
Membership
Any student that is in my classroom.
I will have honors students, special education students, and regular education students. I will have two semesters of different students per year.
Negotiations
I will need to explain this to the students as
well as parents. I will need to show examples of what I expect from students. I will need the students to understand what is expected of them. I will need parents to understand what I expect from the students as well as how they can help their student.
Timeline
This will take more than just a few weeks or
months. I am planning to use this for at least two years to see if there are any improvements. At the end of the two years, I will reevaluate to see if there are things that I need to totally remove. I will be looking at the end of each semester to see if there are things that I can improve on at that time.
Statement of Resources
I will use different resources to determine if
this is effective. I will be looking at referrals, overall behavior of students, and also interactions of students. I will be talking with mentor teachers as well as administration to see what is or has worked for them.
Data Collection
I will be able to determine how effective this is by
comparing the number of referrals that I have to write for students. (I use to write an average of 23 per week.) Since I change students at Christmas Break, I will be able to compare each semester to see what I need to change and if anything working. At the end of each semester, I will have students fill out a survey similar to those that we fill out to see if they feel that I need to improve on anything.
