Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to impart the students the
basic and essential concepts of a Automotive Engine.
The students will be made to learn the anatomy of
the automobile in general.
The students will be made to learn the functioning of
engine and its accessories, gear box, clutch, brakes,
steering, axles and wheels.
This course will help the students to understand the
suspension system of automotive vehicle.
The students will be made to learn emissions,
ignitions, controls, electrical system and ventilation.

Learning Outcomes
After completion of the course, students will be able to:
Identify the different parts of the automobile
Explain the working of various parts like engine, transmission, clutch,
brakes.
Describe how the steering and the suspension systems operate.
Understand the environmental implications of automobile emissions.
Develop a strong base for understanding future developments in the
automobile industry
