The article
English has two articles: the and a/an.
The is used to refer to specific or
particular nouns; a/an is used to modify
non-specific or non-particular nouns.
the = definite article
a/an = indefinite article
possessives
The possessive determiners in
English are my, your, his, her, its,
our, and their.
Possessive determiners are
sometimes called possessive
adjectives, weak possessive
pronouns, or simply possessives.
Demonstratives
In grammar, a demonstrative is a
determiner or a pronoun that points
to a particular noun or to the noun it
replaces. There are four
demonstratives in English: the "near"
demonstratives this and these, and
the "far" demonstratives that and
those. This and that are singular;
these and those are plural
