Safety and usage information

Comply with the following precautions to avoid dangerous or illegal


situations and ensure peak performance of your device.

Safety warnings :

Keep your device away from small children and pets.

Excessive exposure to sound at high volumes can cause hearing


damage. Always turn the volume down before plugging the
earphones into an audio source and use only the minimum volume
setting necessary to hear your conversation or music.

Peak performance : Ensure that too many applications are not


open at the same time. Speed of running the Quantum application
will slow down.
Handle equipment with caution.

• Turn off the device in potentially explosive environments.

• Do not use your device at refuelling points (service stations) or near fuels or
chemicals. Turn off your device whenever directed by warning signs or
instructions. Your device could cause explosions or fire in and around fuel
or chemical storage and transfer areas or blasting areas.

• Do not store or carry flammable liquids, gases, or explosive materials in the


same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories.

• While using your device, hold the device with a relaxed grip, press the keys
lightly, use special features that reduce the number of keys you have to
press (such as templates and predictive text), and take frequent breaks.
Precautions of handling battery
» Handle and dispose of batteries and chargers with care
» Use only Samsung-approved batteries and chargers specifically designed for your device.
Incompatible batteries and chargers can cause serious injuries or damage to your device.
» Never dispose of batteries or devices in a fire. Follow all local regulations when disposing of used
batteries or devices.
» Never place batteries or devices on or in heating devices, such as microwave ovens, stoves, or
radiators. Batteries may explode when overheated.
» Never crush or puncture the battery. Avoid exposing the battery to high external pressure, which
can lead to an internal short circuit and overheating.
Service Issues

• Physical damage will not be covered under warranty.

Eg.

• Do not use the device if the screen is cracked or broken.

• Broken glass or acrylic could cause injury to your hand and face.

• Bring the device to a Samsung service centre to replace the screen.

• Damage caused by careless handling will void your manufacturer’s


warranty.
Connecting : Handset - Computer

• Connect your device to a computer


• Connect one end (mini-USB) of the PC data cable to the
multifunction jack on your device and the other end to
the USB port on your computer.
• Tap Start > Settings.
• On the Basic Settings tab, tap General Settings > USB
Connection .
• Active Sync and Tap Done.
• NB – Please ensure that the multi function jack has the
USB symbol facing upwards while connecting it to the
phone.
Connect your device to a computer
Connect one end (mini-USB) of the PC data cable to the
multifunction jack on your device and the other end to the USB
port on your computer.
Tap Start >
Tap Start > Settings.
On the Basic Settings tab, tap
General Settings
tap General Settings > USB
Connection .
Active Sync and Tap Done.
RESET

Soft reset
On the left hand side panel (at the bottom ) you will find a soft reset port.
To reset the phone use a sharp, thin object like a pin or a toothpick and
gently press into the port.

Hard reset
For hard reset go to START> settings>memory settings>Clear memory>
tap on it > you will be prompted to enter a 4 digit password (default
1234)>Tap Done.

Optimal Use of Battery
Start> Settings> General settings> Power>
Battery Power> You can see the battery
consumption.

NB – On the same screen, you will see Back


light settings. For optimal usage, ensure
that you select 30 seconds to turn off the
backlight and 1 minute to turn off the
device.

Recommended charging time.
• To ensure better performance of the battery do
not charge the battery for more than 3 hours.
• The first charge (brand new handset) while using
the phone should be for 6 hours.

Mobile - Installation Tutorial
Agenda
• Installation procedure for Quantum
Assistant for Windows Mobile.
• Un-installation procedure for Quantum
Assistant for Windows Mobile.
Installation
Step 1
• Find the file QuantumAssitant.msi and double-click on it
• Quantum Assistant application Installer is launched. Click “Next” on
the screen.
Step
Click “Next” on the screen.

• {Optional} User can change directory path on local
machine if required.
Step 3
• Click “Next” to confirm
Step 4
• Quantum Assistant Installation will start
• Please wait till you see next screen.
Step 5
• Click “OK” on the Message box displayed
• Note: Ensure Windows Mobile based Mobile Device is active and connected to
PC using ActiveSync before pressing OK

Step 6
Click “Close” to close the Installer Wizard on Desktop
• The Quantum Assistant Installer will now continue to install
QA on the Mobile device (Omnia-Lite)
Step 7
• After Step 6, the Installation continues on the Mobile Device, when the
installer starts installing Quantum Assistant.cab on the device
• Click “Yes” on to dismiss the “Unknown Publisher” notice and to continue
installation on device
• Note: The “Unknown Publisher” notice will be subsequently removed in next
release
Step 8
• Select “OK” from the Title bar to close Installer application
• Quantum Assistant has now completed configuration for Quantum application on the phone
Step 9
• Quantum application Installation and Configuration is now complete
• Verify by confirming that Quantum Application short-cut appears as a Item on Today
Screen
• Touching on the Item on Today screen will launch Quantum App.
