INTRODUCTION
In this survey the difference between the levels of job satisfaction
between IT & Non IT jobs as well as the job sector in India as a whole
has been studied. Job satisfaction means how much a person is
content with his/her job.
By surveying & studying the data, an attempt has been made to
understand the following things :Difference between the levels of satisfaction between the IT & Non IT
sector employees.
Level of satisfaction of Indian Employees as a whole have with their
jobs.
Whether the employer respects the employee.
Do their jobs offer them a chance to express themselves, innovate
new things & give them a feeling & sense of belonging to the
organisation.

Maslows hierarchy of
needs

Developed by Abraham Maslow in 1943.


Maslow's hierarchy of needs, portrayed in the shape of
a pyramid with the largest, most fundamental levels of
needs at the bottom and the need forself-actualizationat
the top.
Self actualization which consists of morality, creativity,
spontaneity , problem solving
Esteem which consists of self esteem, confidence,
achievement, respect of others
Love/belonging which consists of friendship, family,
sexual intimacy
Physiological which consists of breathing, food, water,

Why studying Job Satisfaction using


Maslows hierarchy of needs?
Maslows hierarchy of needs has been used to study Job
Satisfaction because
Maslow hierarchy of needs talks about the basic needs
which a person needs to make his life satisfying.
Studying the Job Satisfaction under Maslows Hierarchy
of Needs enables us to better understand what motivates
people to do job & is it being served?
The level of contentment employees they have in their jobs
Does employees job satisfaction have any connection
with his basic needs being served.

Conclusio
n

According to the survey, most people in jobs agree that they


have a sense of job satisfaction.
The levels of self-actualization in IT is more than Non-IT.
The levels of esteem in IT is more than Non-IT.
Levels of love & belongings in IT is more than Non-IT.
Levels of safety in IT is more than Non-IT
Levels of physiological needs being satisfied in Non IT is more
than IT
Thus, we can conclude that in IT the level of job
satisfaction is more than Non-IT but the level of
physiological needs( breathing, sleeping etc) being
satisfied is more in Non IT than IT.
