Introduction
Feature Description:
In the case of some applications, although the device may have completed its data transfer and not be expecting
further data exchange, the UE must wait for the network to move it from CELL_DCH or CELL_FACH to idle or
URA_PCH state. Because the UMTS networks cannot anticipate the data transfer characteristics of particular
applications, this can lead to excessive battery drain. The Fast Dormancy feature will allow operators to recover
control on how to manage UE devices and permitting to handle them in a more efficient way interms of network
resources and the signaling load of PS sessions.
Trial Objectives :
Increase the radio resources capacity.
Improvement also on the UE battery due to less DCH time and less RRC Connection requests Attempts.
Reduction of the signallng load by using more suitable transition states as Cell-PCH and URA-PCH.

Summary

Advantages:
