Implementation of PBIS
Running Project
Matt Ysusi

Plan of Action

Suggested Course of Action

1) PBIS Team and Building Leadership Team will
use the Work Plan tool developed by the National
Institute for Urban School Development
Work plan tool will help teams create a plan that
works backward-meaning establishing where we
want to be in one year and then mapping how we
can get there.
The plan will require 7 steps of planning and
completion to help set up agendas for the
remaining year

Step 1-Where Do We Want to

Be?

Where do we Want to Be?

Create positive behavioral support and
intervention system for all three tiers
Complete procedures for implementation of these
supports/interventions
Determine what data to collect and how it will be
collected
Create building and classroom expectations

Step 1-Where Do We Want to

Be? Cont
Building Leadership and PBIS Team must set
up standard meeting times and calendar
Administration must fully support
implementation
Certified and Classified staff must be on
board and help with creation of classroom
and building wide expectations
Staff needs trained on new information
system (Infinite Campus) in order to learn
how to store and read data

Extra Comments on Project

I developed this slideshow for the PBIS team and admin to

help with the development of our PBIS system. I think this
will be an invaluable tool for us as we begin to tackle a big
task like this. I do feel that this plan needs to be more
inclusive in the fact that we need student participation,
community involvement and support staff. I also struggled
in a sense that it is hard to fully complete a work plan like
this without other team members. I often come from a
different perspective being in special education and I
know other team members would want to add or change
goals, timelines, etc. However, since I am the co-chair of
the PBIS team, I am going to strongly push for us to use
this tool along with the three domains of school template.
