- They are the nations suburbanites residing in

- These individuals nonetheless live a comfortable

existence in the less fashionable suburban.

- Both husband and wife are typically employed
People who are having a difficult time
- Unemployment often stalks couples in this

level.

-these individuals constitute an underclass

and the poor.

things:

The rules governing how people gain or keep

their positions may make mobility difficult or
easy.

Whatever the rules, mobility can be

influenced by structural changes in society.

Types of mobility
Upward mobility- refers to the movement of

individuals or groups from lower to higher

status in social stratification system.
downward mobility-changing ones
occupation, marrying into a certain family,
and others.
