Throughout the course you will be expected to

learn, demonstrate skills and solve problems using


your multiple intelligence strengths ways that you
make sense of concepts and form products. Below

Expectations
1. RESPECT FOR YOURSELF &

OTHERS: Respect for yourself guides


your morals; respect for others guides
your manners. Respect is about treating
yourself and others with extreme value.
Disrespect will be dealt with immediately.

ATTEND REGULARLY AND ON TIME. You are expected


to attend this class on time unless excused because of illness,
medical or legal appointments, compassionate reasons, family
activities, or religious holidays. When you are absent please:
1) Inform me (your teacher) of the excused absence by a
telephone call or a note as soon as possible.
2) Get your absence excused/cleared by your
parent/guardian telephoning the school OR providing a note.
3) Make arrangements for all work that was missed during
the excused absence the day you return.
Unexcused absences or more than four lates per month will
result in an incomplete on all missed work, a meeting with an
administrator and a Wednesday School/Noon Hour Tutorial.

3. COMPLETE YOUR WORK TO THE BEST OF
YOUR ABILITY. "A sign of quality work is work
that is thorough and on time". Take pride in your
work. Dont compare yourself to others, but
compare yourself to where you were. Ask others
for help when you dont understand.
4. BRING YOUR MATERIALS TO CLASS &
STUDY REGULARLY. "A person who is
prepared, can face challenges easier." Plan not to
fail; do not fail to plan.
5. FOLLOW THE CODE OF CONDUCT. See

We are all expected to try to fulfill any reasonable


request. Our classroom will be a place where there
will be:
NO Physical, verbal abuse or profanity
NO weapons, alcohol or illegal drugs
NO headgear of cell phones (new policy)
NO vandalism, theft or copying other peoples
work
NO unexcused absences or lates
NO talking when someone is addressing the class

6. EAT HEALTHY & REGULARLY. Garbage in,
garbage out. Eat a healthy breakfast, lunch and
snack. Replace junk food (pop, chips, and fries)
with healthy alternatives (juice, milk, nuts, and
fruit).
7. HAVE SOME FUN & DON'T GIVE UP. "Life
is what you make of it. It is the journey that
matters, not the destination." If you at first dont
succeed, try to find out why, change what you can
and try again. If you do poorly on a quiz or
assignment, you may rewrite or redo it with the
marks being averaged.

REWARDS:
You will be rewarded with a penny for the following:
Consistently following the 7 expectations for
success
Answering questions from the current or previous
lessons
Achieving excellence (80% +) on quizzes & tests
Showing drastic improvement in a skill or concept
Accomplishing a prearranged goal or task
Going beyond the call of duty (charity, kindness)
Pennies can be traded-in for drinks, food, science
prizes and other prizes
