Hands-On Problem Solving/exemplars with sums and

Simple addition and subtraction problems with up to 3
addends.

Science and Social studies


Curriculum
Science is hands-on labs and inquiry based
Science topics focus on:
Five senses, life cycles, animals and their
habitats, magnets and much more.
Social studies topics focus on:
Community, citizenship, culture and changes
over time.

We will be starting the Leader in Me program based on


Stephen Coveys Seven Habits of Happy Kids.
Misbehavior and outstanding behavior will be identified
by the teacher and addressed in class. Reports/parent
contact will be sent home on progress reports each nine
weeks.
It is our goal here at Las Lomas to produce leaders!
All Las Lomas teachers have been trained in the Olweus
Bully prevention program.

Welcome to our Leader In Me school where our students are leaders! Staff
and families work together so our children are successful in class and at
home!
As a Lighthouse Parent, you can stay actively involved in our program by
joining our Parent Action Team Committee in addition to:

Taking advantage of any theleaderinme.org online
resources and printed materials sent home
Volunteer Opportunities
Participating in our schoolwide family projects (i.e.
#Liongram Summer Activity and College Pride
Month)
Serving as a Parent LIM Representative and
Advocate at events such as Leadership Day and
Symposium
Supporting our leaders by incorporating the 7 habits
at home
