ABSTRACT

LAN chat application is the easiest way to chat with out using
Internet.

The only thing required is Server IP address.

You will able to connect different Clients to each other and also
the Client to Main Server.

It is used for Mailing Purpose by using the SMTP and POP3.

Information regarding circulars,results,faculty details and Time

Tables can be viewed by the client.

This application is also used for sending notifications through

Messages.

We are providing the path to directory where we have stored our

files to the user who wants to download a particular file.

Intranet is a web within a network and It connects

people within that Network.
When Faculty and Students are disengaged, dislocated
and misinformed it can lead to poor performance,so we
use this application.
Way of Communication is done through Mailing,
Chatting and Messaging.
Chatting includes about Placements,TimeTables and
Schedues
Admin has the power to know all about the clients.

EXISTING SYSTEM
Existing system uses the physical LAN connections to
have communication with others.
This Existing system doesnt have control over network
connection so,there was a problem of data security.
The mailing process is only used for sending messages.
It was not able to provide professional environment for
professional workers.

DRAWBACKS
DRAWBACKS

Intranet communication is used only for chatting in

existing systems.
We cant upload any files and no files exist in that
application.
It do not show the status of messages and history details.

PROPOSED SYSTEM
Information

about Academics like Results and Time

Table etc., are also available.
Mailing process consists of sending documents and
smileys and also for chatting purpose.
Used for sending Notifications through messages to
students.
Using this system,admin will be able to get more
information like completely logged details of every
users including IP addresses.
Admin have the power to create backup.

person to whom they sending messages.

Mailing

is done by using the IP addresses.

Both the clients should connect each other.
It makes use of User Name of opposite client.
It is done by using SMTP,POP3 protocols.

Messaging Module
This

Module is mainly used for sending and receiving

messages.
It includes Instant Messaging also.
All the messages are sent and received in a secured
manner.
It make use of IP adresses of sender and Receiver.
It is done by using IMAP4,SMTP protocols.

Chatting Module
It

mainly need a server IP address and a host IP address.

One client connects with another client.
Both the clients chat each other by using their IP
addresses.
Same time the messages can be sent and Received.
