Overview of Asset Management

Asset Management deals with the maintenance and development of the companies
assets.
Asset management is subdivided into
Technical Planning
Asset
Development
The main goal is to produce and maximize oil output at minimum cost, which is to make profit.

RESERVOIR ENGINEERING FLOWCHAT

BASIC G&G
Geology with respect to the oil industry is principally
concerned with the evaluation of key elements in
sedimentary basins.
Geophysics is a subject of natural science concerned
with the physical processes and physical properties of
the Earth and its surrounding space environment, and
the use of quantitative methods for their analysis.
G & G is majorly concerned with giving a comprehensive
view of the subsurface.

OVERVIEW OF PETROPHYSICS

Hydrocarbon Quantification:

HCIP = A * h * (N/G) * * (1Sw)

Petrophysics is the study of the

physical
and
chemical
properties that describe the
behaviour of rocks, soils and
fluids.

PROJECT

Ossu field

Regional Setting of Ossu Field

The Ossu field is located onshore in Addax
OML 124 concession. The field is
located in the distal part of the
Northern Depobelt of Niger Delta with
an area of about 25sqkm
Structurally, Ossu Field is a rollover
anticline with a system of antithetic and
synthetic normal faults.
The structure is bounded to the north and
south by growth faults.
To date, 23 wells have been drilled on the
field with the hydrocarbons are
predominantly trapped on the crest of
the rollover anticline

Objective
To produce a time/depth map for the Ossu AA-1.6 Reservoir and fault sticks
that would serve as input for forward 3D-Static modelling of the field.

Seismic to Well Tie

Well-seismic ties allow well data,
measured in depth, to be compared
to seismic data, measured in time.
This allows us to relate horizon tops
identified in a well with specific
reflections on the seismic section.
We use sonic and density well logs to
generate a synthetic seismic trace.
The synthetic trace is compared to
the real seismic data collected near
the well.

17

Production Performance Diagnostic Plots

A graphical procedure that uses past production trend to analyse declining production rate and forecast
future performance of oil and gas wells.
They can also be used to:

1.

Diagnose the behaviour of a well

2.

Check the validity of well test data and production allocation

3.

Differentiate among the water production mechanisms

4.

Identify wells where gel treatment may be effective for water shut off

Typical plots are;

Water cut vs time

Chan plots ( WOR/WOR vs Time), etc.
