Typhoons come most

of the year except for


the dry months.
It cause the

destruction of our
natural surrounding,
infrastructures,
livelihoods, food
sources and even loss
of lives.

Cyclones and How they are

Winds that are spiraling inwardly in a

counterclockwise direction in the Northern


Hemisphere and a clockwise direction in the
Southern Hemisphere.

tropics.
The tropics is a region

of the earth surrounding


the equator.

tropic of cancer at
23.50 degree North
and the tropic of
Capricorn at 23.50
degree South.

Types of Cyclone
(Tropical Cyclone)

1. Typhoons are strong tropical cyclones


that develop in the western North Pacific
(includes the Philippines and Neighboring
Asian countries)

2. Hurricanes it Occur in the North


Atlantic, Central, or Eastern North Pacific,
Caribbean Sea and Mexico.

3. Severe cyclonic storms it occurs


in the Bay of Bengal and in the Arabian sea.

Note:
In the western South Pacific and southeast
Indian Ocean, they are called Severe
tropical cyclones.
While on the Southwest Indian Ocean , they
are called tropical cyclones.

tropical depression.
When a super typhoon hit the mountains ,

buildings etc. will become weak.


when there is a collision between the
Habagat and the super typhoon, there is
tendency that the super typhoon melts and
become weak as well.

Stay calm and be alert.
Stay indoors. Postpone any plans of travels or

errands.
Monitor the weather reports. Check what is
happening around you.
When local authorities advise you to evacuate, do
so. Move family pets and valuable to a safe place;
turn off gas valves, electricity and water, when
safe to do so.
Be ready to evacuate if necessary. Leave your
house as soon as you realize you are not safe.
Boil drinking water or have some bottled water
ready.
