Simulation :
Definition:
simulation is the imitation of the operation of the realworld process or system over time . The act of
simulating something first requires that a model be
developed; this model represents the key characteristic
or behavior/functions of the selected physical or the
abstract system or process.
It is basically examination of a problem often not
subject to direct experimentation by means of a
simulating device.

Introduction:
simulation is used in many contexts , such as simulation
of technologies for performance optimization , safety
engineering, testing, training, education and video
games.
often computer experiments are used to study
simulation models simulation is also used with scientific
modeling of natural systems or human systems to gain
insight into their functioning.
simulation can also be used to show the eventual real
effect of alternative conditions and courses of actions. It
can also used when real system cannot be engaged ,
because it may not be accessible ,or it may be
dangerous or unacceptable to engage , or it is being
designed but not yet built, or it may simply not exist.

Advantages of
simulating:

Simulation is the best suited to analyze the complex

and large practical problems, when it is not possible
to solve them, through a mathematical method.
Simulation is the flexible , hence changes in the
system variables can be made to select the best
solution among the various alternatives.
In simulation , the experiments are carried out with
the model without disturbing the system.
Policy decisions can be made much faster by
knowing the options well in advance and by reducing
the risk of experimenting in the real system.
By mimicking the behavior of designer with
information pertaining to the correctness and
efficiency of alternate design. After carefully weighing
the ramification of each design, the best circuit may
then be fabricated.
Another benefit of simulators is that they permit
system designer to study a problem at several
different levels of abstraction. By approaching a
system at a higher level of abstraction, the designer
is better able to understand the behaviors and
interactions of all high level components with in the
system.

Simulation software:
Definition:

simulation software is based on the process of

modeling a real phenomenon with a set of
mathematical formulas.
It is essentially , a program that allows the user to
observe an operation through simulation without
actually performing that operation.
Simulation software is widely used to design
equipment so that final product will be as close to
design specs as possible without expensive in
process modification.
