Komodo Dragon
Do you know what is the largest lizard? This lizard
is called komodo. It lives in the scrub and woodland of
a few Indonesian islands.
Komodo dragon is the worlds heaviest lizard,
weighing 150 pounds or more. The largest Komodo
ever measured was more than 10 feet (3 meters) long
and weighed 366 pounds (166 kg) but the average
size of komodo in the wild is about 8 feet (2.5 meters)
long and 200 pounds (91 kg)
Komodo has gray scaly skin, a pointed snout,
powerful limbs and a muscular tail. They use their
keen sense of smell to locate decaying animal
remains from several miles away. They also hunt other
lizards as well as large mammals and are sometimes
cannibalistic.

Brownie is a Chinese breed.

It is small, fluffy, and cute. It
has got thick brown fur. When
I cuddle it, the fur feels soft.
Brownie does not like bones.
Everyday it eats soft food like
steamed rice, fish, or bread.
Every morning I give her milk
and bread.
When I am at school,
Brownie plays with my cat.
They get along well, and
never fight maybe because
Brownie does not bark a lot. It
treats the other animals in
our house gently, and it never
eats shoes. Brownie is really a
sweet and friendly dog.

The tree trunk conducts

fruits of the plant. It also
supports the branches
and the twigs. The leaves,
flowers, and fruits grow
along the twigs.
The roots absorb
water and minerals from
the soil to feed all parts of
the tree. They also anchor
a tree in the soil to hold
the tree upright against
the force of strong wind.

temple in the world. This temple
is located in Borobudur Village,
Magelang,
Central
of
Java,
Indonesia. It is approximately
100 km from Semarang, 86 km
from Surakarta, and 40 km from
Jogjakarta. It was found as a
place
of
worship
for
the
Mahayana Buddhist by Sailendra
dynasty in 800 AD. It was first
discovered
by
Sir
Thomas
Stanford Raffles in 1814. At that
time, it was found crushed and
buried in the ground.

REPORT TEXT
Report text and Descriptive text are difficult to differ
because both of them has the same social function and
structure. But if you are careful enough you can differ
both text. You will catch the point by the writing style of
the text.
When we take a dog as the object, we can serve the
object in report or descriptive text.
When we describe a dog on its part of the body,
physics, and the characteristics in general, we propose a
report text.
But when we describe a dog more focus on, lets say
my dog or a three legged dog name Brino with
specific characters, color, size, etc. we propose a
descriptive text.

REPORT TEXT
The social Function:
To describe the object in general way. The objects
described are ranged from human, animal,
plant,nature, place or things.
The general structure :
1. General classification, it proposes the object
described.
2. Description, it proposes the details description
about the object, for example the description of
part of the body, description of the way of life,
description of the habits or behaviour, description of the
material, & description of shape .

REPORT TEXT

The characteristics of report text:

1. It describes the phenomenon of nature, animal, place
and scientific object. Mostly, report is written after
getting careful observation. This scientific and technical
sense make clearer difference from descriptive text. It
serves the numbers, data, and exact information about
the object. So report is functioning also to give
information about an object to the readers.
2. It describes an object in general. For example a city.
Report text inform all about city in general
characteristic, for example the people, modern
economic system, the life style, the governmnet, etc.
Compare a text about City and Yogyakarta. Which is considered
report? Which is considered descriptive? Compare a text serves
Mountain and Merapi Mountain. Which is report? Which is
descriptive?
