INTRODUCTION
The concept of learning of the 21 st Century meets the
challenges posed by a rapidly changing world. Teaching is
perceived as a two-way interaction between instructors and
students. What the students learn depends largely on the
degree of commitment to the teaching tasks on the part of the
teacher.
Teaching Literature is a subject, and a difficult one. Doing it
well requires scholarly and critical sophistication, but it also
requires a clear idea of what literature is, what is entailed in
reading and characterizing. It requires, in fact some very selfconscious theorizing. Teaching Literature should give priority to
the appreciative activity than the knowledge of literature itself
because the main purpose of teaching and learning literature is
appreciating the value that contains in literature.

The teacher has great potential impact on


students life. Most of the time he or she
becomes a role model of the students. Angara
stated that teachers are the heart of the
educational system. He or she plays a distinct
role in motivating, facilitating, and
coordinating the learning of the students as
well as molding their character through the
educational process.
Contributing the importance of teachers in
the educational process, any step towards the
improvement of the educational system should
likewise consider the improvement for quality
and competence of the teachers.

The investigation on teaching effectiveness must continue


to take a hard look at its educational system and the services
that the world had arrived at the information age. With all the
available technology which facilitates the movement of data
and information across national borders at great speed, the
teaching an articulate such happening to the attention of the
students in the classroom. To achieve these objectives,
teacher effectiveness is needed for all faculties. Unlike many
American universities, it has not focused attention on the area
of teacher effectiveness.
Most of the professors and teachers usually have no formal
training in pedagogy although they possess specialized skills
in areas. Students opinion can provide important information
and valid questions, answered by students in the context of
appropriate data-collection process will yield reliable and
useful results. Students rating is the main source of
information about teachers ability in teaching.
