PURPOSE OF PROJECT..

The main purpose of the project is to jam the

sensor of TV receiver at a particular frequency
on a desired channel .
As it jams the TV receiver it prevents the IR
receiver from sensing any other signal from the
TV remote.
It also allow the user to jam the volume at a
fixed range , to avoid irritation by loud noise and
also prevents from tuning TV, ON and OFF by TV
remote.

INTRODUCTION..
TV remote jammer is a circuit which is

designed using Timer IC 555.

This project found its application in
consumer electronics.
Further project can be enhanced by
using powerful IR diodes such that it can
be operated from long distance.
It produces a constant signal that
interferes with the signal from a remote
control and prevents the TV detecting a
channel.

HAT IS A TV REMOTE JAMMER

A TV remote jammer is a device that
blocks transmissions by creating
interference.
It emits signals in the same frequency
range which is used by TV , and within
the range of a jammer TV remote
looses its control.
TV remote jammer is a circuit which
will stop TV being doing its working
properly.

NCIPLE OF TV REMOTE JAMME

The idea behind TV remote control jammer is

sending a constant IR pulse with the carrier
frequency of the transmitter. Hence the result will
be non-accepted signal from the receiver and
therefore no action will be taken.
Basically the TV remote emits a sequence of pulses
when you press a button. IR transmitter is fixed to
the surface of the TV remote. This IR transmitter
emits the pulses in unique configuration for each
button.
IR receiver which is arranged to TV will receive
these sequences of pulses that are transmitted by
TV Remote and identify which button is pressed in
TV remote.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONS..

ORKING OF IC555 :-

IC 555 timer is a one of the most widely used IC

in electronics and is used in various electronic
circuits for its robust and stable properties.
It works as square-wave form generator with
duty cycle varying from 50% to 100%, Oscillator
and can also provide time delay in circuits.
The 555 timer got its name from the three 5k
ohm resistor.

NCTIONS OF DIFFERENT PINS

1. GROUND:

This pin is used to provide a zero voltage rail to

the Integrated circuit to divide the supply
potential between the three resistors shown in
the diagram.

2. TRIGGER:As

we can see that the voltage at the non-inverting end of the comparator is
Vin/3, so if the trigger input is used to set the output of the F/F to high state
by applying a voltage equal to or less than Vin/3 or any negative pulse, as
the voltage at the non-inverting end of the comparator is V in/3.

3.
OUTPUT:

It is the output pin of the IC, connected to the Q (Q-bar) of

the F/F with an inverter in between as show in the figure.

This

pin is used to reset the output of the F/F regardless of

4.
RESET:the initial condition of the F/F and also it is an active low
Pin so it connected to high state to avoid any noise
interference, unless a reset operation is required. So most
of the time it is connected to the Supply voltage as shown
in the figure.

. CONTROL VOLTAGE:
As we can see that the pin 5 is connected to the inverting input having a
voltage level of (2/3) Vin. It is used to override the inverting voltage to
change the width of the output signal irrespective of the RC timing network.

6. THRESHOLD:

The pin is connected to the non-inverting input of the first comparator.

The output of the comparator will be high when the threshold voltage will
be more than (2/3) Vinthus resetting the output (Q) of the F/F from high
to low.

7. DISCHARGE:

This pin is used to discharge the timing capacitors (capacitors involved in

the external circuit to make the IC behave as a square wave generator) to
ground when the output of Pin 3 is switched to low.

8. SUPPLY:

This pin is used to provide the IC with the supply voltage for the
functioning and carrying of the different operations to be fulfilled with the
555 timer.

USES:

As the IC555 timer allows the time delay

hence it is widely used in jamming the
circuit in remotes.
The IC555 timer is used in many circuits, for
example One-shot pulse generator in Mono
stable mode as an Oscillator in Astable Mode or
in Bistable mode to produce a flip/flop type
action.
It is also used in many types of other circuit for
achievement of various purposes for instance
Pulse Amplitude Modulatin (PAM), Pulse Width

RESISTOR:-

Aresistoris apassive two terminal electrical

component that implements electrical resistance
as a circuit element. Resistors may be used to
reduce current flow, and, at the same time, may
act to lower voltage levels within circuits.
CAPACITOR:-

Acapacitor(originally known as acondenser)

is apassive two-terminal electrical
componentused to temporarily store electrical
energy in anelectric field.
The forms of practical capacitors vary widely,
but most contain at least twoelectrical
conductors (plates) separated by
adielectric(i.e. aninsulator that can store
energy by becomingpolarized).
The conductors can be thin films, foils or
sintered beads of metal or conductive
electrolyte, etc.
The non conducting dielectric acts to increase
the capacitor's charge capacity.

LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED) :-

Alight-emitting diode(LED) is a two-lead

semiconductor light source.
It is apn junctiondiode, which emits light
when activated.
When a suitablevoltageis applied to the
leads,electronsare
able
to
recombine
withelectron holeswithin the device, releasing
energy in the form ofphotons.

This effect is calledelectroluminescence, and

the color of the light (corresponding to the
energy of the photon) is determined by the
energyband gapof the semiconductor.
LEDs have many advantages over
incandescent light sources including lower
energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved
physical robustness, smaller size, and faster
switching.
Light-emitting diodes are now used in
applications as diverse asaviation
lighting,automotive headlamps,
advertising,general lighting,traffic signals,
camera flashes and lighted wallpaper.

ADVANTAGES AND
DISADVANTAGES..
ADVANTAGES:we can use this signals so that the other
people cannot change the channel while
watching our favorite programs on TV.
It will not effect the signal receiving
capacity of the TV.
DISADVANTAGES:The circuit should be tuned correctly to
38 kHz frequency to get accurate result.

APPLICATIONS

It jams TV on single channel. so that there

would not be any type of interruption while
watching the TV.
It also blocks the volume of TV, to avoid any
type of irritation. And also noise pollution due
to very loud Volume.
By some modification, it can also be used to
jam the Music system, A.C. and many other
device.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

This project is about the design and application
of TV remote jammer. The main concept of this
project is to develop a circuit to block the
emerging signals from the TV remote by producing
pulses from the IR sensor connected to this circuit.
By using the same jamming concept other
electronics appliances such as A.C, automatic
door, remote controlled fan can also be jammed.
The future scope of this project can be
implemented by using a powerful IR diode such
that it can be operated from a long distance.

CONCLUSION

TV remote jammer circuits have both

advantages and disadvantages, these can be
considered as good and bad both depending
on the signal intended to be jammed.
Simple jammer circuits can be pretty easily
constructed, however subtle circuit can be
made for higher requirements.
