Raised to the status of Punjab Veterinary
College by the end of nineteenth century

Upgraded to UVAS in June 2002

At Medicine clinic, I did treatment of

disease, deworming, Castration and others

Case # 1A: goat was presented at clinic with fever, dull

depressed, coughing, sneezing

Diagnosis: Contagious caprineplueropneumonia

A horse was presented at clinic with high rise of

body temprature, red color of urine,swellon lymph

nodes,horse was dull,depressed, anemic and weak

Lab. Examination: Blood slide was positive for intraerythocitic and erythrocitic bodies resembling theileria.

In this rotation we were guide theoretically as

My work at this clinic was included:
Rectal palpation
Pregnancy diagnosis (PD)
Treatment of reproductive diseases like dystocia
,Rectal prolapse , Retain plancenta, Surgery and
ultrasound facilities were also available.

Treated cases:
Case # 1:A goat was presented at clinic with complain of
delayed parturation
Diagnosis: Dystokia
Case Management:
Cervix was checked it was found closed. For cervix Dilation
we inject Stilbisterole 1ml (intramuscular) and wait still drug
show desire effects.
After waiting for 20min fetus was retracted manually by hands.

To avoid co-infection
Inj: Neurobian 3ml
Inj: Ca-gluconate 10 ml (I/V).
Inj: Almoxil 5 ml (I/M).
Washing of uterus.

My work at Surgery

Diagnosis: on examination stone was found in urethera Case
management: for easy of animal on emergency bases a sterilized
catheter was passed and the urinary bladder was made empty.

Centre
During
working in internship at UVAS pet Centre under
supervision of Dr. Asim Khalid my responsibilities were:
Take care of Pets
Their management,
Treatment of all pets diseases.
Deworming
vaccination of pets diseases.
The cases I was treated:
ND, Rectal prolapse in bird
External parasite, CPVI,
Ovariohystrectomy

Anesthesia: 0.2cc Xylaz +0.6cc Katamine

+0.2cc Atropine through I/M
Procedure:
Shaving of operation site
Scrubbing of site with pyodine scrub
Incision given in b/w caudlly last tow teats
Surgery removal or ov.hystrectomy done
Closing operation site with simple
interrupted
suture technique
Skin and sub-cutaneous layer is closed by ford interlocking technique

Post Operative Care: apply polyfex

Syp:Augmentin 60ml, 5ml+5ml
For 5 days

Conclusion
It was a good experience to work at UVAS
Lahore
Staff provide me great support and
encouragement.
I expanded my knowledge on different clinical
cases that I found challenging and interesting
As a whole I believe to have gotten a better
understanding of my interns work with a lot of
practices to learn about which I have studied
theoretically.
