Introduction
The global demand for white fish such as the Nile tilapia
(Oreochromis niloticus) and Siamese catfish (Pangasianodon
hypophthalmus) has grown rapidly
Indonesia has been cultivating Siamese catfish since the early
1970s
The quality of this fish is not in accordance with the export
standards because of its yellowish meat, while the market
demands a white-coloured meat

Djambal catfish Pangasius djambal has white meat which is
suitable for export (Tahapari and Nurlaela 2016)
Crossbreeding between female P. hypophthalmus and male P.
djambal. Its called patin pasupati
The meat is white, its grows fast with good fecundity
intolerance to less than optimum environmental conditions, at
dissolved oxygen of <3 mg L-1 (Trobos 2008)
