POLICY GUIDELINES

FOR TEACHERS AND


SCHOOL PERSONNEL

1. Observe punctuality. Write down your time of arrival and departure on your F48 and
attendance logbook in logging in/out using the biometric machine.
(Memo No.
130, s. 2015 Guidelines on the Implementation of Integrated Time and
Attendance.
2. Observe strictly the RULES IMPLEMENTING THE CODE OF CONDUCT AND
ETHICAL STANDARDS (RA 6723) in all your relationships with parents, coteachers and superiors.
3. Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with parents.
4. Always observe PROTOCOL in the conduct of school business.
5. Be prudent in all actions and decisions. If there is any disagreement, try to
solve the problem amicably. If possible, school problems should be solved within
the school
level. (DECS Order No. 21 s. 1995)
6. Keep strict accounting of pupils records, books and materials.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

7. Always maintain the cleanliness and the beautification of the physical


environment in order to make the school conducive to learning.
8. Check on the urgent needs of the physical environment such as electrical
wiring, fire
hazards and the parts of the building which need repair work. (A
committee will
prioritize the needs.)
9. Pupils going to the comfort room should be supervised very closely.
Never send your pupils outside the school premises for personal reason. The
teacher will be held responsible and accountable if any untoward incident happens
to the child.
10.Teachers should wear the prescribed uniform every day. Observe dress
code. No Tshirts without collar, tight jeans during Fridays. If possible, refrain from
wearing slippers inside the classrooms except during rainy days & flood.
11.No form of gambling, smoking and drinking is allowed in the school
premises during official time or on Saturdays and Sundays.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

12. Teachers/personnel observing official time should never get out of the
school
perimeter without first asking permission. When allowed to do so, they
should
indicate their time of departure and the reason for leaving the area.
13. No teachers should disturb the classes of other teachers. The movement
of pupils during mobilization should be closely monitored.
14. Teachers must not release pupils to unauthorized person during class
hours. If parents wish to take their children, they should be made to sign for the
release of pupils.
15. Submit all reports including financial statements on or before due
date. They should be complete, neat and accurate.
16. Accomplish and keep strictly the accounting of school forms and other
pertinent pupils records every grading period.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

17. Settle your accounts and other property responsibilities on agreed


timetable from the property custodian, club treasurer and other school personnel
who are assigned
with other accounts and property responsibilities. (Clearance)
18. Teachers going on leave or applying for reinstatement must file their
pertinent
papers 15 days before the effectivity of their leave or reinstatement.
19. Outside teaching and study require permission from the Division Office.
20. Those retiring at age 65 must file application at least 3 months before
date of mandatory requirement.
21. Parents, visitors other than DepEd Officials should not be entertained
during class
hours. Only teachers and pupils are the ones in the classroom during
these hours. There will be a consultation day & time after classes.
22. Tutoring of pupils inside the school premises during official time is NOT
ALLOWED.
23. Every teacher is a guidance teacher. Refer only serious problems to
Guidance/Principals office.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

1. Instruction starts as soon as the bell rings.


2. Train pupil leaders. Be more pupil-centered than teacher-centered.
3. Always maintain a high standard of excellence in doing the following
throughout the year:

Room structuring. Make your classrooms conducive to learning. Remove all eye sores.

Maintaining cleanliness of the room. Lets practice TAPAT KO LINIS KO, KALAT KO LIGPIT
KO

Doing board work exercises

Use of visual aids, and other teaching devices. CAI is encouraged.

Participating in any school projects, programs & activities.

4. Good classroom management should be emphasized. Childrens routine


activities should be well-established. Classroom discipline bespeak of teachers
personality. It should be maintained right at the beginning of the school year. (Refer
to What to discuss during Orientation Day)

Formative-Summative Tests
6. Teachers who are assigned to substitute for absent teachers should
utilize their substitution time wisely.
7. AVOID CORPORAL PUNISHMENT. The practice or concept of LOCO PARENTIS
is already frowned upon by the school and the community.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATTERS

8. Keep the office informed of any deviation from the regular class
schedule.
9. It is of paramount importance that teachers should check pupils attendance
at the
beginning of every session. Device a very systematic way of checking
the
attendance so that no time will be wasted.
10. Observe your subject schedule religiously. Do not prolong your time in one
subject
with the effect of neglecting the other subjects.
11. Consult regularly to your Master Teacher in-charge for instructional
advice and guidance. They are your subject specialist and learning partners.
12. If value conflict arises, give priority to academic activities rather than to
non- academic activities.
13. Inform the office of any meeting, seminar or in-service training called by
supervisors without memorandum or order.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATTERS

14. Meet regularly thru LAC Sessions or TQC with your MTs to share and
give feedbacks on teaching problems and interaction.
15. No stereo-type lesson plan. It should be a semi-detailed form. No lesson
plan for
even one subject/day will mean a Satisfactory rating or a forfeiture of
you plus factor at the end of the school year. If there is a need to re-use for
tomorrow your
lesson plan for the day, state your reason for the need.
16. Refrain from using your cellular phones or other gadgets not related to
teaching.
17. Every teacher is a reading teacher. Conduct pre-oral reading test.
Remedial reading lesson should start as early as July.
18. Start training your pupils for academic contests as early as possible.
At least one
month prior to contest.
19. Be with your pupils even during assembly and dismissal time.
