ABOUT MAHAGENCO IN BRIEF

MAHAGENCO has the highest overall generation capacity and the highest
thermal installed capacity amongst all the State Power Generation
Utilities in India. In terms of installed capacity, it is the second highest
generation company after NTPC.

It has a generation capacity of 12077MW comprising 8640 MW


Thermal, 2585MW Hydel, 672 MW Gas Turbine and 180MW Solar
established by GoM under the Central Electricity Act -2003 with the
principal objective of engaging in the business of generation of electricity
to produce the cheapest power to consumers in the State.
It generates power for more than 2,00,00,000 end consumers in
Maharashtra at economical and affordable rates.

It is in process to install its prestigious and one of the largest Sewage


Treatment Plant at Bhandewadi, Nagpur. This plant is expected to deliver
130 Million Litres per day to MAHAGENCOs Koradi Project 3x660MW .
