Front Page Layout

Analysis
After collating my
audience research survey results, I
found that the most popular local newspaper for my area
was The North Somerset Times. Therefore, I have decided
to base my layout of my newspaper front page and
second page similarly to The north Somerset times.
However, I also found some front page layout
conventions that are evident within all of my 3 newspaper
front page exemplars. These being

Nameplate/Masthead
Date and price
Ear
Headline
Jumpline
Stand alone image
Images (mean average of 6 per page)
Advertisements/Banner advertisement (mean average
of 5 per page)

Therefore I will be sure to use those features within my

my 3 newspaper second page exemplars. These being

Advertisements/Banner Advertisements (mean average of
3 per page)
News Stories (mean average of 3 per page)
So therefore I will emulate this by using these conventions
within my own local newspaper second page. From my
analysis of page 2 I also found that bylines are only used
with the main news story, and not essential to every
newspaper story.
