Board Of Trade
It is an advisory body and is the highest
forum for Govt. industry interface on trade
policy issues.
Members are: Presidents of FICCI,
ASSOCHAM, CII (confederation of Indian
Industries), FIEO (federation of indian export
orgs.) in addition to several leading
industrialists, Ministries of Finance, Industry,
Textile, Chairman of SBI, EXIM Bank, DGFT.
DIRECTOR GENERAL OF
FOREIGN TRADE:
DGFT is an important office of the Dept. of
Commerce to help it in formulation of
Indias Trade policy (Export-Import) Policy
and the implementation of it.
It has set up 32 regional offices in each
State/ Union Territory. These are called
Regional Licensing Authorities.
2. COMMODITY
SPECIALISATION
Commodity specialisation are organisation
for development of production, and exports
of various commodities and products.
They can be classified as:
(A). Export Promotion Councils
(B). Commodity Boards
(C). Development Authorities
(D). Other or Miscellaneous Organisations.
EXPORT PROMOTION
COUNCILS:
There are 24 EPCs. Covering most of the
products exported from India + Service
EPC (proposed).
In some group there are more than one
EPC. For example in textiles sector there
are 7 EPCs. In chemicals there are three.
Carpet Export Promotion Council, New DelhiCarpets Woolen and others, rugs and druggets,
mat, silk carpets, synthetic carpets.
