TECHNOLOGY

BASED
ART

Computer art is any art where

the production or display of the
artwork with the use of
computers. Such art can be an
image, sound, animation, video,
video game, website,
performance or gallery
installation.
Computer art by its nature is
evolutionary since changes in
technology and software directly
affect what is possible.

The Precursor of computer art dates back to 1956

1958 Desmond Paul Henry invented the Henry
Drawing Machine in 1960. His work was shown at the
Reid Gallery in London in 1962, after his machinegenerated art won him the privilege of a one-man
exhibition.
The use digital technology as an essential part of the
creative or presentation process to produce an artistic
work or practice of digital art. Digital art is itself is
placed under the larger umbrella term new media art.
The impact of digital technology has transformed
activities such as painting, drawing, sculpture and
music/sound art.

More generally the term digital

artist is used to describe an
artist who makes use of digital
technologies in the production
of art. In an expanded sense,
digital art is a term applied
on contemporary art that uses
the methods of mass production
of digital media. It is extensively
used by the mainstream media
in advertisement and by film
makers to produce visual
effects.

Computer generated Imagery

(CGI) is the application of
computer graphics to create or
contribute to images in art,
printed media, video games,
films, television, programs,
commercials and simulators.
The visual scene may be
dynamic or static, and may be
two-dimensional (2D), though
the term CGI is most
commonly used to refer to 3D
computer graphics used for
creating scenes or special
effects in films and television.

They can also be used by home user and edited

together in programs such as Windows Movie Maker
or iMovie. The term computer animation refers to
dynamic CGI rendered as a movie. The term virtual
world refers to agent- based, interactive
environments, computer graphics software is used to
make computer-generated imagery for films.
Blender (software) is a professional free and opensource 3D computer graphics software product used
for creating animated films, visual effects, art, 3D
printed models, and video games.

Digital photography uses an

array of electronic photo
detectors to capture image
focused by the lens, as
opposed to an exposure on
photographic film. The
captured image is then
digitized and stored as a
computer file ready for digital
processing, viewing, digital
publishing or printing. It is one
of several forms of digital
imaging. Digital images are
also created by nonphotographic equipment such
as computer and tomography
scanners .

Digital
Painting

Digital painting is a
method of creating art
object (painting) digitally
and/or a technique for
making digital art in the
computer. It is different
from other forms of
digital art, particularly
computer-generated art.
it does not involve the
computer rendering from
a model.

The artist uses painting

techniques to create the digital
painting directly on the
computer. Graphic programs
used for digital painting uses the
design mode only. The image is
translated into the codes that are
needed for viewing, printing etc.
without interference of the artist.
Most of these programs feature
a number of ready-made shapes,
such as circles, ellipses, squares,
and many brush points.

PARTS OF THE CAMERA AND FUNCTIONS

1. Body - Made of high grade plastic or metal, this holds all the
other parts together as well as provide protection to the
delicate internal parts of the camera.
2. Lens - A proper term for this part should be Lens Assembly,
this consists of several layers of lenses of varying properties
providing zoom, focusing, and distortion correction. These
lenses are mechanically interconnected and adjustment is
controlled either manually or electronically through the
camera's body.
3. Shutter Release Button - This is the "trigger" of the camera.
In most cameras, a half-press activates and locks the autofocus, and a full press initiates the image capturing process.
4. Mode Dial - Contains several symbols (slightly different on
various camera models), this dial allows you to select a
shooting mode, automatic or manual.
