WALL PANELLING
It means covering the wall with a piece of
material usually flat and is cut in desirable
shape.
Wall panelsarefunctional- provide insulation
and sound-proofing.
Wall panels are decorative and add aesthetic
appeal.
Can be both temporary or permanent.
It is done to enhance,organize, secure, and
conceal various wires, connections, parts, or
components of building systems.

TYPES OF WALL PANELING:

1. DECORATIVE WALL PANELS
o. made from wood, laminate, plastics or stainless steel
o. patterned with carvings and designs.

2. TILE BOARD
o These are used to mimic the look of ceramic tile and are attached to a
moisture-resistant backer board.
o It is a waterproof paneling and is often used in areas that receive alot of
moisture, such as bathrooms and kitchens.
o available in a wide range of colors and tile styles.

3. ACOUSTICAL PANELS
o They are madefromfoamorwoodcores wrapped with a layer of vinyl
orfabric.

4. BEAD BOARD
Typically installed just on the lower portion of the wall, topped with
a cap rail that looks like crown molding. Bead board is also
sometimes used on ceilings. It can be clear-finished, stained
orpainted.

5. SHEETS
o Sheet paneling is a veneer that typically gives the appearance of
woodwork. It is sold in large, 4-by-8-foot sheets.
o Bamboo and vinyl sheet panels are also available.

6. FAUX STONE AND BRICK

o Faux stone and brick panels are made out of lightweight
polyurethane or polyester resin and are embossed to give the
natural appearance of mortared masonry.

7. TRANSLUCENT WALL PANELS

o Considered to be both decorative and functional. Translucent wall
panels may reach from floor to ceiling or extend to a height
ofslightly taller than the average person.

8. WOOD
o panelscarvedfromhardwoods,likeoak, maple or walnut.
o applying coats of paint, stain, varnish or other wood finishing
product help to achieve desired color, shades or sheen.

9. WAINSCOTING
o Wainscot, or wainscoting, is a style of paneling that only covers
the lower portion of walls.
