Reason For Decline In Growth

Competitive Prices of India

Export Products
Fund Flows on STARTUPS with Exaggerated
Valuation & NDAs Pro-active Investment
policies from abroad & FDI is also paving
ways to hurt India Exports.
The rupee is staying stronger at 65 than it
should be due to increased investments in
to the country via start-ups and industrial
investments. It directly means that
competing with other exporting countries
become tough.

Rising Manufacturing and Labour

Costs

Indian garment exporters, facing rising costs

and declining sales, are moving factories to
Bangladesh, risking snail-paced transportation,
thefts and erratic power supply as they seek to
benefit from wages that are one-third of those at
home and lower taxes in Western export markets.
Apparel manufacturing costs in Bangladesh
are 60% of those in India despite the
infrastructural inadequacies, according to the
Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, a lobby
group based in Delhi.
Lower labour costs- where companies pay just
$40, or about Rs 2,000, a month to a worker to
produce cheap garments compared with an

Bangladeshs clothing exports dont face

taxes in at least 37 countries, including EU
nations, Canada and Australia, a facility
given to the worlds poorest countries.
Garment sales from India attract import
duties of 8-10% in these countries.
Electricity, a key resource to wash, dry
and iron manufactured garmentscosts
more than double of what it does in
Bangladesh, and record-high cotton prices
earlier this year have increased fabric
costs.

Crude Oil affects Indian Exports

All the countries depend on the revenues

that are yielded out of their exports to
import products. Lower crude oil prices is
also one of the reason as Crude products
contribute one fifth of the Goods export of
India. If export continues to fall, It will have
greater impact on Indias GDP. But it is the
experts prediction if the global demand
increases, Indias export will march towards
growth.

Lower Demand of Goods and Products

There is a fluctuation in export due to lower

demand of goods and products across the
world and fall of commodity prices. On
accessing the export data, International
Monetary Fund and World trade organisation
has brought the target for world trade. IMF
forecast for of world trade has been
reducedto 3.2 % in 2015 comparing to 4.1 %
July forecast. Emerging markets had lowered
to 1.3% in 2015 comparing to 3.6% July
forecast.

T-shirts Dressing up the World

90% of cotton tees exported from India are made in
a South Indian town called Tirupur, a.k.a. the Dollar
City.
62% of Americans claim to own at least ten tees, and
odds are high that some of them were shipped from
Tirupur.
600% is the average appreciation in the price of a tee
by the time it the reaches First World buyers in love
with American or European tags.

SWOT Analysis Of Export Scenario Of Tshirt In India

Suggestions
The government should concentrate on removing the capacity
constraints on the infrastructure efforts must be made to
encourage vertical set-ups required for the industry.
The export benefits and incentives for exporters must be such
as to enable them to compete with a lower price and are at
least at par with their counterparts in other countries.
Restructuring of the loans without any additional provision is
to be done by the banks.
24 hrs uninterrupted power supply is required for textile units.
Implementation of latest technology in Effluent treatment
plants to meet the norms of Pollution Control Board.
Government should come out with incentive schemes for
garment manufacturers.
