Biblical Principle
What kind of seed are you?
Mark 4:8

But some of the seed fell on good

ground. There it began to grow, and
it made grain. Some plants made 30
times more grain, some 60 times
more, and some 100 times more.

Learning objective: Identify the
characteristics of the Animal
Reproduction and how they change
throughout their lives.

METAMORPHOSIS

http://
studyjams.scholastic.com/studyjams/jams/science/animals/animal-lifecycles.htm

It is a radical change from larva to adult

BUTTERFLY LIFE
CYCLE

COMPLETE METAMORPHOSIS it has

four distint life cycle stages: egg,
larva pupa, and adult.
INCOMPLETE METAMORPHOSIS only
has three life cycle stages: egg,
nymph, and adult. The nymph looks
similar to, but is a smaller version of,
the adult.

MAMMAL REPRODUCTION
Most mammals are viviparous animal
give birth to live young
Pregnancy the young develop inside
their mothers uterus
Baby mammal feed on the milk
produced in their mothers mammary
glands

BIRD REPRODUCTION
Birds are oviparous animals they hatch
from eggs
The male or female bird sits on top of the
eggs to incubate them the heat from the
birds body passes to the eggs and allows
the chicks to develop inside.
The chicks stay in the nest, their parents
bring them food and put the food into their
beaks

AMPHIBIAN REPRODUCTION
Amphibians are the only vertebrates that undergo
metamorphosis.
They lay eggs in or near rivers and ponds.
Amphibian eggs do not need an incubation
The tadpoles hatch from the eggs; they have a long tail and
breathe through outer gills.
After 7 weeks, the tadpoles have inner gills and two hind legs
At about 10 weeks, gills disappear, have 4 legs and lungs
have started to develop.
At about 16 weeks, the tail has disappeared, they look like
small frogs.

Most birds lay their eggs in a ______________________

Birds are _________________________animals.
The __________________ is the transfer of the pollen from the anther
to the stigma in the flower .
The ______________________ period allows the chick to develop
inside the ________.
The ____________________ is the part of the plant responsible for
sexual reproduction.
The ___________________ occurs inside the ovary of the flower.

5. Draw a picture of the frog life

cycle, name, and explain each stage.
6. Draw a picture of the Butterfly life
cycle and explain each stage
7. Draw the male part and the female
part of a flower and label their parts.
