Library Activities
In library there are many activities through which life skills can be
developed in students. If these activities are being done via
competitions, the students will take more interest. The following
competitions can be held in the library:

Quiz Competition - It helps in sharpening the memory

and a life skill- critical thinking is developed. As it is conducted
team- wise, team- spirit is also developed in students

 Extempore
Competition: In this
competition a student is given
a topic on the spot for which
he has to express his/her
views. The topic is given
without any planning or
preparation. As soon as the
topic is put before him/her, it
creates a problem but
immediately he/she collects
the ideas on the given topic
and presents his views. This
develops the critical thinking
skill and problem solving skill
in the students.

Debate Competition:
via debates the student
expresses his/ her views in
favour or against a motion. And
tries to turn the audience
towards his/her opinion .In this
way a communicative life skill
along with self- confidence, is
developed.

 Making bookmark
A bookmark is a marker
commonly made of
paper or card used to keep ones place in a book
and get to the same page in no time. These are
crafted by the students of VI to X. It enhances
creativity

BOOK REVIEW WRITING

While writing a book review after read
by a student, the critical thinking skill with
a creativity of a student is enhanced.

Story Writing on a Given title

In this competition title is given to the students
and they are supposed to write a story on it.
In this activity, the critical thinking skill and
imagination power is developed.

COVER PAGE DESIGNING

In this activity, a title is given to students and they
design the cover page of the book, by this they develop
their own creativity and thinking skill.

N E W S PAP E R C L I P P I
NG
On a specific theme, these clippings are cut-out
from the Newspapers and displayed on a board by
students. The main purpose of this clippings is to
have an enhancive knowledge on a theme
among the students.

SCRAP BOOKS
The students of various classes prepared the scrap
books on the following topics:
Employment Choices: it provides the detailed
information about different employment streams.
Science Projects: which gives an idea about
science topics and projects.
General: its a wide field covering all interesting
facts and topics useful for students.
