provides a customized learning experience for the
student.
Programs like Khan Academy and EFSET which
provided information to the instructor and learner on
how to improve and how to advance.

Wearable Technology

Wearable technology are devices that can be worn

on the body to assist the user in various activities.
From smart watches to the Oculus VR, wearable tech
is enhancing learning one new application a time

Trends

Adaptive Technology

Gaming

Adaptive learning has expanded from one on one

tutoring to researching data and analytics on
student progress (Johnson and Samora, 2016).
Games can improve student learning and motivation
(Choi, Ding, Kopcha and Neumann, 2016).

Wearable Technology

In recent developments, wearable technology help

student use simulation to learn topics like anatomy
and history.

Economic and Policy Trends

Funding

Language learning and college education

are in demand. Millennials that complete
college were more likely to make $17,000
more than those who only has a high school
diploma ( Taylor, Parker, Morin, Fry, Pattern
& Brown, 2014)
EF can find alternative ways for funding
such as donations, fundraising, selling
products.

Demographic Trends

Elderly

The elderly population is estimated to increase to a

little over 20% by 2050 (Heisler and Shrestha,
2011)
The elderly will be the new learners of this century

Homeschooled

The academic inputs and outcome are practical for

guardians to tailor the childrens needs in learning
(Alias, DeWitt and Jamaludin, 2015)
Access to Language learn will be important for
those learning at home.

The Vision

Plan for Change

Call to Action

Create student clubs and faculty

committee on issues of concern,
creating a miniature think tank to
combat issues.

Training for new instructors on

the coaching style of teaching
and introduce the flipped
classroom.

The Possibilities
Here is a video that I found that is close to
what I see as the future of EF.
HP Classroom of the Future
That concludes my presentation.
Thank you.
