INTRODUCTION TO AIP

AIP forms part of Integrated Aeronautical Information Package, which includes


NOTAMs, Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC) and the AIP itself.

AIP is made up of three Parts, namely General (GEN), En-route (ENR) and
Aerodromes (AD) (See page GEN 0.1 4).

The AIP page numbering, section and subsection arrangement format :Pages are numbered based on the Part, Section Number followed by Subsection
number after the decimal, then a hyphen and the running Section page numbering.
For example GEN 5.1 2 (GEN is Part, No. 5 is Section No., No. 1 is Subsection No. and No. 2 is Page No.)

Paragraphs in AIP are arranged in numbered multilevel list format, for example :GEN 5.1

INTRODUCTION TO AIP

The AIP is amended once every three months if available.

Effective dates follow Aeronautical Information Regulation And Control (AIRAC) cycles
and normally occurs around MAR, JUN, AUG and NOV.

Refer to online AIP at aip.dca.gov.my for latest and updated information*. The pages
are available in the PDF format.

ABBREVIATIONS USED IN AIS PUBLICATIONS section. It can be found in pages

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
2.1 Met Office at KLIA is responsible for met svcs in-flight in Kuala Lumpur FIR.
2.2 Met Office at KK provides met svcs in-flight in Kota Kinabalu FIR.

All non-scheduled flights overflying or landing are subject to prior


approval by DCA. For landing contact Airport Coordination Malaysia
(ACM) for slot-time confirmation in IATA format before submitting to
DCA at least two weeks before date of operation.

2.3.6

Non-scheduled flights landing at the designated entry/exit points shall


submit flight plans at least 12 hours prior to departure.

3. PRODUCTION OF DOCUMENTS FOR INSPECTION


3.1 The pilot-in-command shall produce to any authorized person as requested
within reasonable time the following documents:
a) Certificate of Airworthiness
b) Certificate of Registration
c) Flight crew licenses
d) Technical/Journey Log Book
e) Telecommunication Log Book
f)

Radio Station License

g) Copy of Load Sheet


h) Pax and cargo manifest
i)

Copy of Certificate of Maintenance

j)

General Declaration of Health
