The next 15 slides give you the full

explanation about the 4 colored
labels.
Together they tell the story of how
waste is handled in my household,
living in Vejle Kommune in
Denmark.

Waste and recycling in Vejle Kommune

This folder gives you an introduction to the
waste and recycling system.

Recycling centers
We have four recycling centers in Vejle
Municipality: Brkop, Egtved, Give and
Vejle. As residents of Vejle Municipality you
can use any of the four facilities.
Please note that if you use bags for the
waste you deliver to the recycling centers,
these must be clear plastic bags.
Doubts about how to sort the waste?
MARTS 2016
Use our app: AffaldGenbrug Vejle. It will tell
you how various types of waste should be
sorted at home, and which container to use
at the recycling centers! The app is free.
Available for IOS, Android og Windows.

Inspiration - Indoor
Sort your waste already in
the kitchen. Items which will
not fit in the kitchen, e.g.
glass and bottles can be
stored in a cupboard, in a
basket or on a shelf in the
utility room.

Waste sorting
When you sort your waste, you make a difference for both the environment and
the economy.
Sorted waste is a resource, which can be reused. This folder gives you an
introduction to the waste and recycling system in Vejle Municipality.
Household waste
Detached and semi-detached houses have a double-room container for
organic waste and general waste. Apartment buildings and private/ public
residence associations can have either single room or double-room containers.
Put the organic waste in the green bags, which we supply. You must also use
bags for the general waste.
Close the bags properly. We collect household waste either every week or
every two weeks. The containers for household waste are labelled with green
and black icons.

Bring your bin out no

later than 6:00 a.m on the day that the bin
is due to be emptied or the night before

Recyclable waste
Detached and semi-detached houses have a double-room
container for plastic/ metal and paper. Apartment buildings
and private /public residence associations can have either
single room or double-room containers. The metal/
plastic/paper must be clean and free from food leftovers.
Items must be placed loose in the container. Recyclable
waste is collected every 4. weeks. The containers are
marked with orange and blue icons.
Extra waste
If you occasionally have more waste than you can fit in your
bin, you can buy a sticker from AffaldGenbrug. Place the
sticker on a clear bag and put the bag next to your bin. You
can buy a sticker for either household waste or recyclable
waste.

Organic waste

We supply green bags for organic waste in September. If the delivered bags are
too small, you can exchange them at the recycling centers or in the Citizen Service
