I. Overview of
models
Applications
Vineyard
Ideal sized crawlers for inter-row cultivation with a choice of four models.
C version - With an ultra-narrow width of only 1.18 metres (46.5), these models
can work easily in the narrow confines of vineyard rows.
N version - The N version is an all-purpose crawler tractor with compact size and
good power to weight ratio.
M version - The mountain version has the same standard track shoe width as the
N version, but a longer wheelbase and wide platform area makes it ideal for
operating in steep terrain. With its low centre of gravity and long track footprint,
it can operate safely on a twenty percent steeper slope than a wheeled tractor.
L version Features a wider footprint for more traction and less slippage. The
wide platform offers another choice when size is not as critical.
Manoeuvrability is crucial in these applications and the V models are specifically
designed to operate within narrow rows. Stability on hillside work, minimal soil
compaction and excellent traction on hard clay ensure these models are ideally
suited to this specialised industry.

V. Steering and
Brakes
Steering clutches
Multi-plate oil-cooled steering clutches are
hydraulically controlled by the servo-assisted
steering levers.
The large diameter clutches ensure efficient
operation in the hardest conditions.
V = 8 drive discs
F & Open Field = 10 drive discs
Oil cooled to enhance service life.
Benefits
Reliable and efficient driveline.
03 / 2010
51
V. Steering and
Brakes
Steering controls
The steering clutches are controlled by two levers on
the steering console.
Light lever effort results in semi disengagement of
the clutches for small alterations to the steering
direction.
Progressively pulling the lever backwards means
tighter turning.
The last stage of the lever travel fully disengages the
corresponding clutch making the machine easier to
steer, particularly on steep slopes.
An accumulator has been added to the F models to
reduce the lever effort at low engine rpm
(700
1200 erpm)
Benefit
Smooth, effortless steering.
03 / 2010
52
V. Steering and
Brakes
Steering pump
Engine mounted pump supplies oil to the steering,
PTO clutches and all transmission component
lubrication.
V models = 18 l/min
F & Open Field = 25 l/min
Benefits
Generous flow ensures no oil starvation to key
operating components.
03 / 2010
53
V. Steering and
Brakes
Braking
The brake band lining is made of a graphite friction
material to ensure effective braking.
The brake band is oil cooled to eliminate heating
problems.
The brakes can be directly operated using the
independent foot pedals.
Benefit
Excellent manoeuvrability, particularly in confined
areas.
03 / 2010
54
V. Steering and
Brakes
Parking Brake
Engaging the parking brake lever locks the
brake lining to the steering clutch pack.
The engagement lever is located on the steering
column.
Benefit
Positive braking when stationary.

VI. Tracks
Tracks
Tracks
The tracks run on 5 lower rollers (4 on V compact). These carrier rollers are a long life
flanged type and are structurally designed to absorb high axial loads.
Drive sprockets with a special profile ensures each chain link wears evenly to provide
long life chains. The spoke structure allows any soil build-up to easily break free and
prevent damage.
Chain tension is manual.
03 / 2010
56
VI. Tracks
Tracks
Semi-lubricated chains. These chains contain grease, but require periodic re-grease.
