Introduction

This course is designed to develop

students knowledge in understanding
theory and concept of translation. It is
also designed to improve the quality of
English to Indonesian and Indonesian
to English translation. The focus of this
course is on the practice of translating
English to Indonesian and Indonesian
to English in sentence level.

Techniques: translation elements,
translation process, translation
technique, evaluating translation
Lexical Equivalent: affixed words,
compound words, words with
different distribution, blending,
clipping, acronym, figure of speech,
idioms

Grammatical Adjustment:
Attributives, Participles, Gerund,
Tense Markers, Auxiliaries, Modals,
Conditionals, Verbs of Wishing, Order
within Clauses, Ellipsis,
Transformation into Kernel Sentences
