Pressure Testing with Liquids

A WIS will witness all pressure tests.
The requirement related to working with pressure shall refer
to GP 10-45 Pressure Testing.
Objective: to ensure that surface equipment does not
leak/fail during use and that any personnel exposure is kept
to a minimum.
Pressure testing should be carried out using water, brine or
hydraulic oil as the test medium - NOT hydrocarbons or
diesel.
To pressure test the PCE upon the rig-up on the well, a
60/40 mix of TEG/water should be used to prevent hydrate
formation
Must NOT exceed equipment safe working pressure
11

Heavy Lift & Lifting Operations

As a general policy, no heavy lifts shall be carried out
over unprotected wellheads or flowlines.
A shear seal BOP is one of the items of well intervention
equipment that is considered as a heavy lift as it will be
lifted down / up from main deck to the top of tree and from
the tree to the main deck through the opened well hatch
and passing closely to some flowlines.
Some additional measures to shut in the adjacent well may
also need to be taken.

12

Heavy Lift & Lifting Operations

15

Hydrate
Hydrates can be formed during wireline operations, especially
when there is a restricted valve opened or when there are
uncontrolled continuous leaks during which temperatures may
drop significantly (i.e. at stuffing box).
Plans must be in place for quick and efficient dispersals.
A 60/40 TEG/water mix shall be used at all times for pressure
tests.

16

Radioactive Materials

Radioactive source are used when running

FDR as part of MPLT program.
The Wireline engineer should be the only
ones that handle the tool that contains
radioactive source material.
This person is trained in the handling of
the radioactive material.
All non-essential personnel should stay
away from the logging tools that utilize a
radioactive source when the tools are on
the surface and connected in the MPLT
tool.

Static Bottom Hole Pressure

Static Bottom Hole Pressure

(SBHP) survey in this scope is run
on slickline with memory modular
tool.

The well is in shut in condition.

Station stops with the memory

modular tool

30

Memory Production Logging

MPLT survey in this scope is run

on slickline with memory modular
tool.

The survey requires the well to be

in shut in and flowing condition.

Surveys across the perforation

zone.

31

Leak Detection

Procedure to describe Leak

Detection Survey run on 5/16
Electric Line.

VRA-06 tubing and casing leak.

Requires differential pressure

between the tubing and annulus
to activate the leak.

Works based on acoustic noise

principle to determine the leak
point(s).

32

Retrievable Bridge Plug Setting

Procedure to describe the

installation of the HPHT
Retrievable Bridge Plug on 5/16
E-Line cable proceeded with
Tubing clearance and dummy run
on 0.125 Slickline.

2 RBPs set in VRA-06 liner due to

leaking to suspend the well
(double well barrier policy).

33

Wireline Retrievable Insert Valve

Change Out

Procedure to describe the

replacement of the Baker 6.0
WRIV at the HLN Depth.

WRIV used when TRSCSSV not

able to work properly.

VRB-06 WRIV has been changed.

34

Wireline Plug Installation

Procedure to describe the

installation of the wireline plugs
(5.812 AFHET Plug) at the
TRSCSSV depth.

Set mechanically using the

running tool.

Retrieved mechanically using the

pulling tool.

Unlike RBP, this plug only can be

set in TRSCSSV depth.

35

Separation Sleeve Installation

Procedure to describe the

installation of the 6.00
Separation Sleeve at the HLN
depth.

As contingency if the installed

WRIV is not working properly.
