Introduction

Definition: a learning institution that has been systemically


reinvented in terms of teaching-learning practices and school
management in order to prepare children for the Information

One of the seven flagship of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC)


that will carry out in 2000.

Goals
Provide all-round development in an individual.
Provide citizens with thinking and technology-literate
abilities
Provide opportunities to enhance strengths and abilities
Democratise education
Increase involvement of stakeholders

Students not too active and passive to get involve in teaching


and learning process.

Hoping to be spoon-fed by teachers completely.

More to one side process.

Managing the multimedia facilities is not easy.

Administrator do not encourage the implementation of multimedia


infrastructure

Critical Trainings

Teachers lack of intensive trainings in using multimedia devices.

Lack of knowledge in importance of ICT in teaching and learning


process nowadays.

Difficult to adapt to a whole new environment using ICT in


teaching process.

Parents Attitude

Not really involve in this Smart School project.

Too busy with their work so that can upgrade their life and
provide better environment for their children

Most of them think its the work of government

Heavy Investment on upgrading


multimedia infrastructures.

Hardware include computers and peripherals, video and voice


conferencing equipment and the backbone telecommunication
infrastructure.

Software will comprise word processors, spreadsheets, networking


software, e-mail software.

Need more funding on investment.

Ways to Overcome

Explore more on innovative methods to achieve the


targeted budget such as private sector funding, corporate
and community involvement, sponsorships

Renovate training programs, significant additional infrastructure


and the mobilization of expertise, which includes both local and
foreign.

Students and teachers welfare needs can be more


effectively met with constant monitoring.

Student should also play an active role in determining the


direction of their respective learning by virtue of the
participation and activities

Conclusion
Cooperation from all Malaysian whether students, teacher and
parents needed to achieve the objective of Smart School to produce
a knowledge society that is critical ,creative and innovative to
produce technology savvy individuals for the Information Age and to
cultivate
life-long
learning
based
on
Information
and
Communication in Technology.
