ALL TEACHER CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO MEET THE IDAHO CORE TEACHER
STANDARDS AND THE STANDARDS SPECIFIC TO THEIR DISCIPLINE AREAS AT THE
ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF ABOVE. ADDITIONALLY, ALL TEACHER CANDIDATES ARE
EXPECTED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS DEFINED IN STATE BOARD RULE.

The teacher understands the


central concepts, tools of
inquiry , and structure of the
discipline taught, and creates
learning experiences that
make there aspects of subject
matter meaningful for
students.

The teacher is able to demonstrate and


understanding of the materials being taught.

The teacher is able to connect present


curriculum to past learning.

The teacher presents the material in engaging


and a variety of different perspectives.

The teacher makes accommodations for the


student depending on learning requirements of
the student.

The teacher tries to make connections with


students through different interactions using

that relate to his or her students.

The teacher creates a learning environment that


is suitable to all learning styles, stages of
development, needs, and strengths.

The teacher takes into account all cultures


in regards to how to properly motivate the
students.

The teachers understands that all students


learn differently when planning on how to
manage their classroom.

The teacher works to provide the best


environment to encourage the greatest
amount of learning.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR AN EDUCATOR?

The teacher give the correct amount of time


needed to complete an assignment to the best of a
students abilities.

The teacher is supportive to always of a students


expression in speaking, writing, and other forms of
media.

The teacher does not stick to just one specific type


of learning but instead uses multiple different ways
of communication to broaden the learning
experience of the student.

The teacher plans


instruction based upon
knowledge of subject
matter, students, the

The teacher creates lesson plans that cater to


all levels of learning and backgrounds.

The teacher is able to deliver these said


lessons proficiently to his or her students
adjusting when necessary to meet students
needs.

The teacher is able to create lesson plans


with both long and short term goals in mind.

The teacher will select and administer


assessments that will be able to correctly judge
the progress of his or her students.

The teacher is able to appropriately us the


accommodations necessary for all the students
to succeed.

The teacher understands and is able to interpret


the data of the assessments given to anyone
who might ask.

The teacher is a reflective

The teacher will use multiple resources to


help constantly improve their teaching
abilities.
