Technology from the drop down.

How can you use this in
YOUR classroom?
The possibilities are endless but here are a few
ideas.

Math
Students can:
create a presentation walking the class through their step
by step thought process when solving a problem.
use google images to find examples of geometric shapes
in real life and create a digital poster.
create a how to book to teach math concepts.
use digital manipulatives to help work through problems,
i.e. SMART Exchange
practice skills through online tutorials.

Reading & Writing


Students can:
research, plan, edit and revise a final writing piece.
use videos and articles to research a topic.
read on Raz-Kids.
listen to stories on Storylineonline.net
interactive games with Roy the Zebra.
practice daily edits.

Science & Social Studies


Students can:
use websites and videos to dig deeper into a topic being
studied.
research key people (scientists, explorers etc.) and discover
what impact they had on their time period.
Use Newsela.com to find articles relevent to their topic and
summarize it.
create videos on a topic, teaching the class about it.
Use Google Earth to locate communities around the world

Art & Music


Students can:
watch videos of different musical pieces and compare and
contrast them.
research works by a famous artist, taking notes on
similarities and differences between them
research famous artists or musicians and create a
presentation about them.
investigate websites relevant to the topic being studied to
learn more about them.
read musical pieces

What is Hapara?
Hapara allows you to get a bird's-eye, real-time view of all
students when logged into a Chromebook. Not only can
you view the students activities, but you can also access
any doc or slide in their account to edit or view.

Logging in to Hapara is easy! First,
visit www.montville.net/hapara

Sharing Tab on Hapara


When trying to access student work, you can view all of their saved
work by visiting the sharing tab and then clicking All Docs

Interact Tab
Opening a link on ALL of your students chromebooks.
Once a link is copied..
1. Click the interact tab on the left side of the screen.
2. Click Open a tab for every student (top right).

3. Paste the link.

Sending a message to your students using Hapara.
1. Click the interact tab on the left side of the screen.
2. Click Send Message to Every Student (top right).

3. Type in message and click send message.

SmartCopy
To share documents that you have created with your class, use the Smart Copy
feature. The tab is found at the top left corner of the dashboard and sharing
pages. This will allow students to work on individual copies of the template you
send them.

Selecting copy will create a separate file for each


student

Selecting share read-only will allow your students


to view the file, but they cannot edit it.

Selecting share read-comment will allow students


to view the file and can share comments with each
other.
