Providing the CPRI interface for communication between the BBU and the
WRRU or WRFU

seven specifications. Current WBBP is the A version, called WBBPa.

Configuration Types of the BTS3900


The BTS3900 supports omni-directional, 2-sector, 3-sector, and 6-sector

configurations. It also supports smooth capacity expansion from 1x1 to 3x8.


This part illustrates the configuration type of the BTS3900 by taking the WBBPa

supporting three cells and the WRFU supporting the 80W/4 carrier as an example.

MBTS Overview
The 3900 series multi-mode base stations feature a modular design. The

baseband module (BBU3900) and RF module (RRU3908/MRFU) are


connected through CPRI ports by using electrical or optical cables for CPRI
signal transmission, thereby meeting the requirements of radio network
deployment.
The basic modules of the 3900 series multi-mode base stations are the

baseband unit (BBU3900), the RF module (MRFU), and the outdoor remote
radio unit (RRU3908).

Appearance of the BBU 3900


The BBU3900 has a case structure. It can be installed in a 19-inch-wide

and 2 U-high indoor space or outdoor protective cabinet, for example,


indoor wall, staircase, storeroom, or outdoor cabinet in the live network.
