INTRODUCTION

Anger can range from a fleeting annoyance


or a full-packed rage.
Anger is a completely normal feeling thats
usually healthy. But when it gets out of
control, it can lead to emotional, physical and
relational problems.
It can interfere with your relationships and
your overall quality of life. It may make the
person feel as if theyre on the mercy of a
powerful emotion that they can never get a
hold of because it holds them.

INTRODUCTION
Anger can be an incredibly damaging force,
costing people their jobs, personal
relationships, and even their lives when it
gets out of hand.
However, since everyone experiences anger,
it is important to have constructive
approaches to manage it effectively.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
This workshop will help teach
participants how to identify their
anger triggers and what to do
when theyre angry.
Educate employees on proper
anger management in the
workplace.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
1) Inform the nature of anger

with anger from the workplace.

Anger is a natural emotion that
usually stems from perceived
threat or loss. Its a pervasive
emotion; it affects our body,
thoughts, feelings and
behavior

Anger typically follows a
predictable pattern: a cycle.
Understanding the cycle of anger
can help us understand our own
anger reactions, and those of
others. It can also help us in
considering the most appropriate
response.

THE CYCLE OF ANGER:


1) TRIGGER PHASE
perceive a threat or loss, and our
body prepares to respond
Individual is in stress state

2) ESCALATION PHASE
Body prepares for crisis
Symptoms is mostly PHYSICAL, like
rapid breathing, increased heart rate
and raised blood pressure

3) CRISIS PHASE
anger reaction reaches its peak
body is on full alert
logic and rationality may be
limited

4) RECOVERY PHASE
anger has been spent, or at least
controlled
return to a persons normal/
adaptive state
reasoning and awareness of ones
self returns

5) DEPRESSION PHASE
marks a return to a persons
normal/ adaptive ways
this stage may be marked by
embarrassment, guilt, regret and/ or
depression.
